Making Halloween decorations with your kids is one of those creative ways you can participate in the celebration of the fright fest.<\/p>\n

As parents, you know the importance of building long-lasting memories, and Halloween activities are one great option that turns any task into a fun challenge \u2014 after all, what better way to entwine crafting and bonding?<\/p>\n

For a night filled with fun and budget-friendly DIY crafts, here are five suggestions we think you and your little ones will enjoy!<\/p>\n

<\/span>Gourdgeous reusable pumpkins<\/span><\/h2>\n

We know peculiar things are bound to be afoot during the spooky season, but you\u2019ve read that right. Despite being a classic hit, carved pumpkins may not be everyone\u2019s cup of tea \u2014 especially when you have to replace them year after year. A more practical solution includes creating your very own reusable pumpkins.<\/p>\n

Find any socks that are no longer part of your wardrobe or even that sole sock left somewhere in the dryer. You can opt for more pumpkin-adjacent shades such as orange, or if you want to have fun decorating it with your little ones, you can even pick a quirky pattern.<\/p>\n

\"Pumpkins<\/p>\n

Start off by cutting two to three inches off the top part of the sock to give it a better shape. Fill it with stuffing or cotton until you get a nice round shape, then tie it together tightly. Grab a long piece of twine and start pulling on the ends a bit to see if they are in equal in length. Then, simply bring the ends of the twine together and crisscross them. Do this until you get that perfect pumpkin shape.<\/p>\n

Use the leftover twine to create a stem for your new low-cost decoration by tying it around the loose top part where you tied the sock together. If you want to make sure the stem is thoroughly supported and will not budge, use a trusty glue gun for a firmer placement.<\/p>\n

You can add some spooktacular googly eyes or draw them on for a more personalized final look. This process should take you around 10 to 15 minutes.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Bootiful ghosts<\/span><\/h2>\n

Making Halloween crafts with your kids shouldn\u2019t be an expensive activity, and this decorating idea is a perfect choice. For this craft you will need just a few items: a pair of boots you are no longer using, a pool noodle, an old pair of pants and a bedsheet.<\/p>\n

Doing this with your kids will be especially entertaining for them, as you can help them create a ghost version of themselves. Grab that pair of boots we mentioned and add a bit of stuffing inside it if you want to adjust the height of your ghost. Then, grab the pool noodle and stuff it through the pair of pants. Place the pool noodle through the boots afterwards, so that each end is stuck in one boot, forming a \u201cU\u201d shape at the top.<\/p>\n

Repurpose an old sheet \u2014 cut it in a circular shape and place it on top of the pool noodle. For the ghost\u2019s eyes, you can use another darker sheet cut into two circles, or you can turn to a marker for a more freestyle form.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Hauntastic floating candles<\/span><\/h2>\n

Got some toilet rolls around the house that serve no purpose? Now is their time to shine and be transformed into a floating candle decoration. Use a glue gun to gently let the glue pour around the edge of one of the openings so that it mimics the texture of melting wax.<\/p>\n

For your painting options, acrylics are the best-suited choice for the little ones as spray paint produces fumes. Opt for a shade of white, and use a dry-brushing technique if you want to add a dash of realism and depth to your new candle.<\/p>\n

Browse your local arts and crafts store and get some tea light LED candles that you will then combine with the toilet roll for the finishing touch. Pierce the top of the toilet roll in an X shape using a needle and some thin string \u2014 fishing wire is also great for this as it blends in with its surroundings with ease. This ensures that the flameless candle you will place will stay at the top and illuminate its surroundings, much alike a real candle, while also giving you a way to attach the candle to the ceiling. Gluing it in place might seem like the easier choice, but be prepared for a very complicated removal if you want to switch it off or reuse it in the future.<\/p>\n

All you need to do next is turn on the flameless candles, attach the string to your ceiling, and enjoy your new spooky d\u00e9cor.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Monsterrific mummies<\/span><\/h2>\n

Bandages, a jar and a lot of excitement are all you need for this DIY Halloween craft! Carefully wrap the bandage or cloth, depending on what you\u2019ve got lying around the house, around the desired jar. Do this until you are satisfied with the texture and opacity of your new ghoulish companion.<\/p>\n
