Many motorhome owners find they can easily work online while on the road, wherever they can get good internet. This is creating a new generation of digital nomads who earn money while making the most of the US\u2019s diverse destinations.<\/p>\n<p>But if you want to join this community, where can you visit great places and also get that vital internet connectivity? <strong>Many RV campgrounds offer Wi-Fi for free<\/strong>, and fast local internet speeds \u2014 plus a Wi-Fi extender in your RV \u2014 may make this an adequate service. In addition, there are always cellular networks, and <strong>travelers who go off the beaten path can now use \u2018satellite internet constellation\u2019 technology<\/strong> at the cost of the hardware and a subscription.<\/p>\n<p>We looked at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.storagecafe.com\/blog\/best-us-rving-destinations-are-in-missouri-arkansas-and-on-gulf-coast\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">US destinations with a significant number of campsites for RVers<\/a> and ranked them for mobile digital nomads using a combined score of electric hookups and Wi-Fi provision at campsites (from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.campgroundviews.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">CampgroundViews<\/a>) and average local internet speeds (from <a href=\"https:\/\/broadbandnow.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Broadbandnow<\/a>). Putting in a strong showing, <strong>Texas has four destinations in the top 10, while Florida has three<\/strong> and the capital cities of Arizona and New Mexico are joined by the family resort of Branson, Missouri.<\/p>\n<p><iframe id=\"datawrapper-chart-zTpOl\" style=\"width: 0; min-width: 100% !important; border: none;\" title=\"Top 10 RVing Destinations for Remote Online Workers\" src=\"https:\/\/datawrapper.dwcdn.net\/zTpOl\/1\/\" height=\"532\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" aria-label=\"Table\"><\/iframe><script type=\"text\/javascript\">!function(){\"use strict\";window.addEventListener(\"message\",(function(e){if(void 0!==e.data[\"datawrapper-height\"]){var t=document.querySelectorAll(\"iframe\");for(var a in e.data[\"datawrapper-height\"])for(var r=0;r<t.length;r++){if(t[r].contentWindow===e.source)t[r].style.height=e.data[\"datawrapper-height\"][a]+\"px\"}}}))}();<\/script><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cities-in-Texas-and-the-Southwest-lead-with-fast-internet-and-many-attractions\"><\/span>Cities in Texas and the Southwest lead with fast internet and many attractions<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The average <strong>internet speed in the Texas cities of Austin and Houston is super-fast, around 459 Mbps<\/strong>, and San Antonio and Tyler join the top 10 destinations with 381 and 331 Mbps, respectively. In Houston, campsites help with more than three quarters of them offering Wi-Fi, and San Antonio is not far behind. Campers in these cities also get the great entertainment and lifestyle options available with a short trip into downtown.<\/p>\n<p>Arizona\u2019s spectacular scenery is on many RVers\u2019 bucket lists. <strong>Phoenix scores with an average internet speed of 469 Mbps and Wi-Fi is offered in most of its campsites<\/strong>. This \u2018Valley of the Sun\u2019 region is well equipped for winter-month visitors, so you could make use of the facilities here and work in a pleasant climate rather than pay heating bills back home. Nearby cities offering similar deals include Mesa \u2014 and Tucson, in 13<sup>th<\/sup> place, has even faster internet speeds of 482 Mbps.<\/p>\n<p>Following the Sun Belt west into New Mexico, its capital, Albuquerque, offers an average internet speed of 328 Mbps, which is fast for the region, and Wi-Fi in almost three-quarters of its campsites. Along with beaches, Bradenton, in fifth place for mobile online workers, also has the exciting options of the neighboring city of Tampa. The average internet speed is 379 Mbps, more than two thirds of the campsites have Wi-Fi, and around the same percentage offer swimming pools. Be warned that the kiteboarding and windsurfing along this coast can become addictive!<\/p>\n<p>Further south, Naples is in sixth place and has an enormous number of golf courses and retail options. Or, if you need to avoid high winds, try Kissimmee, in tenth place, which is 100 miles inland. As you might expect, both these destinations offer good provision of internet \u2014 at average speeds of around 315 Mbps \u2014 and Wi-Fi at the campsites, not to mention swimming pools.<\/p>\n<p>With its year-round weather, <strong>the whole mid-Florida region is a great place for settling in for longer periods<\/strong>. In addition, both at the coast and in the theme parks around Orlando you may also find short-term employment possibilities to cover any lull in your online work. Branson, Missouri, nestling in the heart of the Ozarks, is the second-placed destination for remote working RVers. With an average internet speed of 356 Mbps and Wi-Fi supplied in the great majority of its two dozen or so campgrounds, it adds great advantages for digital workers to a wide range of entertainment options.<\/p>\n<p>Remote places, such as those in the mountains, may not have Wi-Fi or cable, and while cellular networks can be used for online tasks, performance may not be ideal. However, satellite internet is coming to the rescue! It is already available in most of the US \u2014 just not always in urban places with good terrestrial internet \u2014 and <strong>the whole country should be covered next year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>True mountain lovers could also check out Colorado\u2019s Pagosa Springs and South Fork, in 24<sup>th<\/sup> and 34<sup>th<\/sup> positions for digital nomad RVers, whose campsites frequently offer Wi-Fi. But Morgan Youngblood has this final recommendation: \u201cIn reality, it can be pretty stressful to travel this way, especially if you are working from your RV.
