This is the worst storage unit place ever! They rip you off by cutting the lock no matter how many times you tell them that you live 2 hours away! They charge you every time for a lock! Everyone that works there is rude! ?? And the unit leaked! Irent is due on the 1st and I called them to tell them I would be there to clean out the unit and make sure I swept and no trash left behind, mind you I asked for a deposit back and they said I didn't get one back! So I showed up on the third, ( thinking they would prorate the two days) NO THEY MADE PAY FOR A WHOLE ANOTHER MONTH! $117.00- they socked the late fee on there too! I would say for NO ONE PUT THEIR STUFF IN THIS LOCATION! THEY WILL DRAIN YOU OF THE MONEY! THEY RAISE THE RENT ON THE UNITS ALL THE TIME! STAY AWAY! I HAD THAT UNIT WITH THEM FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS! Over all I wouldn't have gave them 1 star! I will be calling you the corporate and report this location and the experience I have with them!!!! Oh, and when I went to turn in the lock and see if they were gonna inspect the unit, the manage didn't want to get out of her car to help me, it was more important for her to feed her face! Just a very bad place to store you stuff. They need to fire everyone and start all over! They seem to not want to help people to much cause they are all to big to get up and down! ?????????????????????????? ... Read more

I got an online offer of $18 for 5x5 unit (5x10 was around $33). I reserved it and went there. First month $1. I asked her to show me my exact unit. I was shown a 5x5 unit sample near the office by the sales person and she told me the actual will look the same. I paid $1 + admin $29=$30 but when I went to the actual unit in building 6, it was half size locker. I was waiting after I made a call. The online description didn't say it was a locker. If I reserved a locker why she showed me a 5x5 unit up to the ceiling. I had already unloaded half of my stuff from the vehicle. Later they transferred to a similar sized unit she showed me only after I kept calling. I felt like money scam and called police. The police wasn't happy that he had to respond to a minor injustice. When the police arrived they already solved problem. He told me to get a lawyer next time and that I can even get a free lawyer . I told the officer if this is not applicable to him then he didn't have to respond. Why would anyone has go through unnecessary stress? ... Read more

They never even told me just let me continue to pay $440 a month plus late fees up until January of 2026.Amy the property manager was rude and nonchalant. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. Do not put anything at this place. My unit was SUPPOSED to be climate controlled. It is not. I put my things here at the beginning of July 2025. I came back to get something out. It was hotter inside than it was outside. Smelled of mold. Some of my things were covered in mold. I let the front desk know. They knew the AC had went out without any notification. I moved my things immediately. As I was walking out, another couple stopped and said they were moving as well because when it rained, their unit would get water inside and the insurance wouldn't cover it because they don't cover flooding. I just want others to be aware. ... Read more

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with Karola, the property manager, was truly exceptional and deserves recognition. Facing a stressful downsizing period, the thought of renting a storage unit for the first time added to my anxiety, particularly concerning the safety of my belongings, costs, and choosing the right unit size. From the moment I arrived, Karola's warm and professional demeanor immediately put me at ease. She patiently guided me through every detail, providing clear, thoughtful explanations without any pressure to upsell. Her genuine focus was on ensuring I found the perfect solution for my needs. What could have been a daunting task transformed into a reassuring experience, leaving me confident that my possessions would be secure. Karola made the entire process seamless, and I left knowing I had made the best choice. My sincere gratitude to her for her outstanding helpfulness and kindness! ... Read more

Posting grievance is necessary and making a complaint on the individuals that disrespect your patronage is your retribution. My storage unit was broken into. The manager reported the incident 1/18/24. I was not connected at all and the storage could have been broken into prior to the discovery. I found out 2/6/25, when I went to retrieve my bile, and found that the electricity was out and a different lock was on the unit. On February 9th at approximately 20:26am, trying to find documents and pictures of ownership, that may have been prevented by working lights at my unit, I called and asked a representative why I was not contacted? I was told because my number was inactive (changed). I asked why I was not emailed? We don’t do that, was the response. I asked how long the lights were inoperable? Not sure… when was the work order request placed? Loud angry voice. The problem was the attitude and negative energy. Answering questions with a customer service business appreciated tone is your job. I will be making a complaint. Posting grievance is necessary and making a complaint on the individuals that disrespect your patronage is your retribution. ... Read more

The price I was quoted for a TOTAL MOVE IN COST was $30, including the promotion of $1/first month rent and then $46/month for online-only price. What I was ACTUALLY charged was $52.55. There is a mandatory $19.99 insurance fee (which is supposedly refunded for the first 30 days) and an automatic charge for the lock, which can be refunded upon return when you bring your own lock.) The online information claims that this refund is $50 when you’re done with the unit. The office lady informed me that it was $19.99 (which was $21.49 after tax) and expires after 17 days of I do not produce my own lock (which I had) - That’s fine enough. What I DON’T like is that when I saw where the unit (original) was located, I immediately expressed it would not be alright due to physical concern (“inside” a narrow hall of sorts). I didn’t even remove the red tag or touch a thing. I was charged a fee for “switching” units, even though it explains in the paperwork that upon inspection, prior to move in, this could be easily accommodated. I chose THE SAME size storage unit. After all it’s says and done, the invoice claims I can expect to be charged $68 for the monthly rent and next month will be $79.33 total after tax. This is unacceptable and I will choose a different company in the future if this cannot be corrected immediately. I also do not like that the office lady told me that the business hours are from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. , whereas ONLINE it claims they are opened from 6 a.m. - 9 p.m There’s a big difference and because of the misinformation, it causes me extra fees elsewhere because I had to cut my moving day short. I am aggravated with the inconsistencies and if this continues, I would advise against this experience. The unit (the 1 I consented to rent), itself is spacious. Aside from steep drops in the road within the facility, the premises seems clean and convenient and secure. The price is a deal breaker for me. ... Read more

Literally only been there A month and a few days. This is by far the worst experience and Storage facility I have experience. Wev removed in on the 27th We were told we would be prograded. Then Karina Said that's not true., Since you moved in on the 27th you still owe that whole month. Which we all know is not true. And Karina Customer service It's just absolutely so unprofessional. My fiance was trying to explain something to her and I literally heard her say well if you shut up and let me talk I will tell you. Then we made a payment. Of $66 Then 2 days later she's calling again saying if we don't pay $92 they're going to auction our stuff off. Which we all know they can't do that unless you're late 30 days so I don't know who she's kidding. It's sad that people like her ruined things for the other employees. If I was anybody I would not rent here ever again. We're literally going to be out within a month. If you do go there try to avoid Karina at all cost!!!! If there was any way you can give negative stars this would be one of the places ... Read more

This is the second time I rented here now having to store some furniture and a few other items while I am in the process of looking for a new place to move to the front office was very nice. I did my order online when I showed up to go to the office to get a lock that was included. The girls told me where to go gave me everything to get in and out of the gate and told me my lock was waiting for me at the storage unit inside so far very good every day I run into them riding around on the golf carts and they always say hello and are very pleasant so far great experience ... WARNING!!!!! Do not do business with this people. How this place maintains a 4.7 rating is beyond me. Please watch out, after raising my rent literally almost every other month, you can see a unit 5x10 they advertise for $70-$80 a month eventually can cost you $232 a month, and I paid my rent on time every month as per picture shown. One day I went to check my stuff, not only is this place disgusting, crawling with a cockroach infestation but the roof leaked and all my stuff is ruined. The roach infestation they were aware of as they tried to control it with 1 can of raid as shown in pictures. There’s no management available the attendant claims she’s the manager but they can do nothing about. I’m stuck with an 800. # somewhere in California that nobody answer. Worst company how people still leave their stuff here getting rained on and cockroaches crawling all over your stuff is baffling. Will never recommend nor use Public storage for as long as I live. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

To open your storage unit door, start by unlocking it, whether it uses a traditional padlock or a Bluetooth-enabled smart lock. Once unlocked, grab the bottom handle and lift or pull up the roll-up door until it’s fully open.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.

Security helps protect your belongings while they’re in storage and gives you peace of mind between visits. Many self storage facilities use a combination of features such as video surveillance, gated access, on-site management, and well-lit premises to help deter unauthorized access.

At Public Storage - 3424 Southside Blvd, available security amenities may include Security Camera, Gate, Onsite Manager, designed to help keep your items protected.

Yes, most standard vehicles can be stored in self storage units. A 10x20 unit typically provides enough space for a car, while outdoor or designated parking areas may be available for larger vehicles.
