The on site employees have i dealt with are great, kind , and seem to actually enjoy their jobs. This month the company increased the cost over 40% $68 up to $98 for my unit , while advertising the same unit for only $66 for new rentals. I can understand offering promotions for new customers and can understand raising rates in small amounts but over 40%. I discovered this at the very last minute I didn't have time to find a different company and move my stuff prior to the Due date, but this will be the last month I rent from here! 5 stars to the on-site team, 0 Stars for the company ... This location is the worst. I paid 145 dollars a month for a small space that only was able to fit 2 full size beds, one bed frame, a computer desk, my son bag of Jurassic Park dinosaurs my daughter Hello kitty jewelry box stand and my Christmas Tree. For one the property manager is never there, you can call 100 times and not get an answer. I went to vacate my storage because my new apartment was ready only to discover all my things was destroyed, Roaches was everywhere. i couldn't take anything with me. Big Roaches , Little Roaches , Roach eggs the roaches took over all my things . Finally Got a hold of the property manger she had to confirm my things was still in unit and was actually in roaches which she called back and confirmed that it was indeed bad. she confirmed that all my things was not able to be taken out by me due to the infestation. moving forward i filled an insurance claim and made a previous review warning people about not renting at this location due because of the roach infestation. The property manager called telling me that they will refund me only 1 month which is 130.00, and to please take down the review THATS TELLING the truth about the roaches. So, I did, today I call asking how my refund will be sent to me because I paid my rent with my debit cards. well come to find out they billed me for the month of august because I didn't remove my things out due to the roaches and just credited my refund to my account. IF I CAN'T EXPRESS IT LOUD ENOUGH IM WARNING ANYBODY AND EVERYBODY. IF YOU DONT WANT TO RISK YOUR THINGS GETTING DESTROYED WITH ROACHES OR EVEN NOT SEEING THEM WITH THE NAKED EYE AND RISK TAKING ONE HOME THEN DISCOVERING YOU GOT ROACHES IN YOUR HOME DUE TO THEM. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. ITS MAKING ME MAD THAT I WAS PAYING RENT AND ENDED UP NOT GETTING MY THINGS OUT BECAUSE THEY HAD ROACHES IN THE UNIT. I EVEN TALKED TO OTHERS THEY DAY I DISCOVER THE ROACHES AND THEY ALWAYS SAID THEY SEEN A FEW IN THEY UNIT AND HAD TO THROW BOMBS TO KEEP THE ACTIVITY DOWN JUST BECAUSE THEY COULDNT AFFORD TO BUT NEW THINGS REMIND YOU THESE PEOPLE HAD THE BIGGER UNITS WITH THERE WHOLE HOUSE IN IT . JUST DONT GO THERE IM WARNING YOU ... Read more

Renting a storage unit from this location is an amazingly easy process. The property manager, Roxie, is so pleasant and does a great job of explaining everything you'd ever need to know leaving you confident that you chose the perfect place to store your belongings. She goes above and beyond. She must hold the award for being the "Best Public Storage Employee Ever". ... Read more

Roxy said she would do all these things and didn't do it, she can't remember to do anything because she constantly talks and yaps about random things that have nothing to do with what you came for... Every time I got to the office DURING business hours she's not there, doors lock locked and closed she won't answer the phone either..One week late paying and they cut your FN lock MY LOCK I BOUGHT FROM WALMART!!!! and riffle through your stuff?! you can not cut a lock I paid for!!!! CORPORATE HAS BEEN CALLED That's not how you "over lock" some one!!! I work in storage company too... Just dingy and off task... AWFUL place don't rent here!!! BEGS FOR REVIEWS just ridiculous... And stop telling every customer about the personal business of your manager and upper management and how they fired people and your mad about it and it's for a dumb reason like forgetting to clock out for lunch and you hate them for doing that to your old coworkers friends... How about Focus on the rentals and not gossip with customers about your company drama ... Read more

Rented a while ago and everything went well , renting now & our storage door was fully opened and so was the one next door. You could see that it had been broken into , the handle was bent and the door was damaged as well! And I’ve noticed they have no cameras! Smh and they never answer ! ... Read more

Roxy has been the best. I am currently moving to a temporary place so having to store most of my stuff. And unit size keeps having to change as do other parameters. And she's been awesome helping me switch and helping when she can. I haven't had any issues with public storage itself so my review is specifically for the personal who work there. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Public Storage - 405 South Hillside Street has to offer. These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Keyless Unit Access, Elevators, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Public Storage - 405 South Hillside Street can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 50 to 300 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Public Storage - 405 South Hillside Street come at a variety of prices, starting from $86 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $201 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
