They do not answer the phones at all then try to play games when you address it called 3 days in a row left voicemails he says he didn't get any calls I had to call someone else just to FORCE him to call me back now I'm calling again same thing calls don't even go through and the agent is being combative she won't transfer me to him and she won't give me her employee id to make a report etc . They are clearly playing games so that they are able to auction my items even though I've speaking with them for months and letting them know what's going on with my situation I have everything recorded so I'll be pressing the issue until I'm given a proper handle of the situation no matter what this is not how customers are to be treated ... Most terrible experience EVER! I had my storage unit for about 4 months the latter two months were paid up ahead of time. I'd been in and out of my unit not more 4 or 5 times during the entire 4 months total. The last two times I was accosted by the local police and sheriff. The police said I and my fiance had not done anything wrong but we had to leave the premises. So we left but I failed to grab my wallet so we returned to retrieve it. So the manager called the police again and ha us evicted but never once spoke to us to address his concerns. We never violated my lease. The location is/was Bethune and second street . Very disrespectful manager with no true level of professionalism. It's much more to this story however the rest will be documented in my formal complaint. ... Read more

Stacy was amazing. She is the best. Beside her my experience was 0/10. I booked 2 wks in advance just for them to call me every other day and still book the wrong size unit and for it not to be on a ground floor. The elevator never work. They have motion lights that’s not the best and as a women that’s not safe. They share parking with a apartment complex that always have the drive way blocked with movers or the dumpster in the photo. The elevator are small. The day I moved in the elevator broke down. They wasn’t fixed until the following week. Which caused for me to have to pay the movers 2 times. I asked to be accommodated and they offered me a lock which I already had. The office is only open 3 days a week if you have any problems. If you call the number off googlE it’s not to the onsite office it’s to someone working remotely that’s how my reservation was messed up. This was a big mistake. ... Read more

First time renting from the 2nd Avenue Detroit location. It was a bit hard finding the entrance which is at the back of the building. However the Agent Stacy at the front office was super helpful and super amazing attitude. She made sure everything was okay, went through the regulations, walked us around the place and was never tired of answering our never ending questions. Stacy is the definition of excellent customer service. The area was clean, easy to access and I got a free heavy duty Lock saved me some money. I would recommend this newly opened place. Stacy keep up the excellent work!! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods.
