0 STARS !!BEWARE!! Our Storage Unit at the Juan Tabo location was recently robbed in the middle of the day on a Friday while the Manager was on duty. We still cant fully process how or why this happened, but according to the on site manager Brian, he said the day of the robbery he noticed a suspicious vehicle (pick up truck) parked by his office (within the gated area). He approached the truck, noticed the bed was loaded and covered with a tarp, questioned the occupants, and then told them to leave. He told me at this point he believed they were waiting for someone to punch out so they could follow them out. He believed this was also the way they got in. He said he immediately drove around all the units on his UTV and noticed ours had been “tampered” with. He said he went inside and reviewed video footage and he saw the suspicious truck and it’s occupants parked in front of our unit and actively loading our stuff into their truck for approximately one hour. I was never allowed to see this footage, and after three attempts from Albuquerque Police Department to retrieve the footage, I was told that it is “gone.” We know that we will most likely never get our things back, footage or not, but I do think it is worth pointing out some things we have learned about StorWise and the gang during this event. 1. People waiting for someone to punch in their code so they can follow them in or out is a known problem here. Brian spoke at length about the strategy and tactics of these types of burglaries, specifically saying that this is the way the burglars get into the facility 2. Brian told me ours was the fourth robbery at the StorWise on Juan Tabo since he started working there. (1.5 yrs) He said all the robberies were similar in the way they were executed 3. The Manager and District Manager were extremely unhelpful during this whole situation. It was incredibly frustrating and insulting being lied to or being stonewalled when it came to questions regarding the status of the video footage and/or any other details or circumstances of the robbery of our storage unit. ... Unfortunately, the entrance was closed off and on in July due to malfunctioning equipment and I was lied to about being able to access my units before leaving on a two-month trip. Yet the company offers no official apology or discount etc on the following month's rent. When I return to Abq I will do my best to move my things to another facility! ... Read more

I have been using StorWise on Juan Tabo for awhile now, and never had any trouble except when I forgot how to enter my code at the gate once. What a great day. Not only did their gate security uphold, but total security of my property was excellent, without going into details the worker showed and assisted me with getting into my unit, checked all my credentials, and went the extra mile for me and the security of my belongings being stored. They are always very nice and helpful.thank you StorWise guy. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that StorWise Self Storage - 1733 Juan Tabo Blvd NE has to offer. These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted and Online Payment. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
