Absolutely the worst storage unit I've ever used. And we've used a few. 1.When you call the number you are connected with a call center with a language barrier every time. 2. Read the contract because they don't refund money. If you move out on the 25th but just paid on the 23rd that's your problem not theirs. Also make sure you let them know in advance you are moving out. We had a death in the family which is the only reason why we came back to the state. You can't plan a death. And we travel the country for work. 3. It is your requirement to make sure the unit stays bug free. And when you tell them your stuff is infested with spiders and you had to leave things behind they will say their is no infestation and spray around your unit. I'm sorry I am not putting spider infested things in my vehicle with my children or pets. 4. Also when you leave stuff in your unit they will charge a cleaning fee but they won't tell you what it is. They said it's different with each location. We placed our items in this storage unit to keep them safe while we traveled. I went in February to get some things out and the unit was fine. We went back September 25th and there were webs and spiders and crickets every where. A majority of those spiders were brown recluse. And there were newly hatched little baby spiders crawling on my husband and I. It was awful. I usually try to see the positive in places but the experience I had with this company regarding me leaving was awful and if I can help anyone else avoid it I will. I've never had this much trouble with a storage company before and it's really concerning that there is no way to contact anyone who actually works at the location. I've tried the number connected to this Google account and it sends me straight to the call center. ... Read more

This place sucks. They have rodents and bugs all over the place. They can silently raise your rent without email or text. And they try to charge you a reciulpus cleaning fee just because you didn't sweep your storage clean even if you moved into a dirty storage. Never doing business with sparebox again. Goodluck taking my money by the way. ... Read more

Followed check out instructions to the letter, left unit clean several days prior to contact date company still took out their payment. Called to speak with someone and was told......."you should have called and talked to someone and told them you were moving out". Online states to do everything online, not to mention, we have NEVER seen a human being at this location in over two months of going back and forth to our unit. Just make sure you diligently keep an eye on things when checking out, they will try to get you. ... Read more

I contacted spare box and spoke with Miguel. I was having trouble changing some of the information regarding my spare box login and password. Upon doing this, I locked myself out. Miguel was so patient and kind and helpful with getting me back into my account. Thank you so very much for your kindness and your professionalism. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
