Latoya was HORRIBLE! Thieves are here!!! I am an auction buyer and have been buying storage units for over two years. I WON to auction at this facility and called over a dozen times leaving voicemails for them to call me back so I can schedule a time to pick up the unit! Latoya never called me back. Never called me back on Saturday. Never called me back on Sunday. Never called me back on Monday.! I bet if you check their Call log, you will see that she never called me and she is not doing her job!!!!! She stole my unit stating that someone else purchased my unit. Because she doesn’t have time to check voicemails as she said!!!!!!!! I get suspended because of her!!!!! She’s clearly a thief acting as a property manager!!!! One moment the unit was still available at 3 PM and the next moment the unit was sold that morning, of that day!!! She was at the property at 3pm and lying to me over the phone stating that the person was on their way to pick up that unit! When I finally had the opportunity to buy the unit, she then calls the manager helping me, to tell them that the unit was gone that morning. That it was no longer available!! Latoya was horrible and she is a thief!!!!! She stole this unit from me, clearly! I am so mad and disappointed that y’all have con artist and thieves, working as property managers for this company. So disappointed. I will share my review on other social media platforms. Truly unfair! ... Read more

I don’t know how they have this high of a rating. I have been with public storage for years. They raise your rent every three months. The storage units on Gulfton Street have a rat and mice infestation. You will find poison packets in your units that are constantly being eaten. The elevator is always broken. The front doors have been broken and not able to get into my unit. There’s never a dolly available to help you move your stuff. It has been a bad experience and I would not recommend it. ... First, I want to say that there's a really NICE lady there Latoria, another lady who is the property manager was really very unprofessional. When there's a problem the manager tries to shift the blame to the person repoerting it, acting condescending and careless. Really bad experience. Hazardous, avoid if you can. ... Read more

I’ve had this unit on the 2nd floor for a year. I go every couple of months. No problem. I’ve noticed the past few times the facility hasn’t been as clean as when I first got the unit. Today was no different. Today I went after the last time mid July and discover rat poop in my unit. Ironically another customer was at his unit in the same hall. He tells me he had to move storage units because his old one had rat poop. Definitely calling corporate to inform them and demand some compensation because they’re having an infestation and not telling anyone. Update: after they transferred my storage unit, I cleaned my things and moved it. I come back to the new storage unit to see mouse poop on top of my things again. I am on a completely different floor now and still having the same issue. This place seems to have a growing mouse problem, not only in the units but by the elevator as well. Store your items in a different facility. District manager emailed me 11/25 to speak on the phone and resolve the issue. Asked for my number and availability. I have sent countless emails back so we can talk and he has gone ghost, it is 1/7/25. Their customer service is awful. Keep getting charged for a mouse infested facility. ... Read more

This place has gone down hill significantly. This is the last place you should store your belongings. My entire unit has mold damage and rat droppings everywhere. There isn’t any food in my unit as this seems to be a building wide infestation. The doors now have rat traps surrounding them upon entry. All of my belongings are damaged. The orange door storage insurance is terrible as well coverage wise. This is so disgusting and such a headache to deal with. Management has been no help. ... Read more

I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience to warn others. Avoid this storage facility if you value your belongings. When I visited my unit, I discovered it had been infested with rats that had chewed through and damaged my artwork and handmade tapestries. The smell was unbearable, and rat droppings were scattered throughout the facility, indicating this was not only my unit. I moved out all my belongings immediately. I had rented a climate-controlled unit, but the temperature inside felt well above the advertised 82°F, more like 85°F or higher. The space was extremely humid, making it clear that their climate control measures are insufficient. Reaching out to corporate was no help. They showed no concern, simply stating that they “recommend not storing valuables” and suggesting that renters have insurance. This lack of accountability is unacceptable, especially considering their prices, which increase every three months. The purpose of having a Storage is to store valuables that you don’t have space in your place to store and you pay for that In order to keep your valuables, obviously. I rented a climate-controlled unit, but the temperature felt much hotter than the claimed 82°F, likely above 85°F, with high humidity levels that made it feel stifling. The supposed climate control was far from adequate. In summary: This storage facility is poorly maintained, lacks sufficient climate control. I would not recommend storing anything valuable or important here. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
