NO ONE lives on site or is ever in the office except rent collection days. No one answers the phone or returns calls. My rent went up 35 percent in 4 months. My unit was okay except for the spider infestation and their droppings. Elevator was out for weeks, the gate frequently does not work (and no one responds). This used to be a great location - the man who ran it was great. Now it's just a money grab with ever increasing rents. Go somewhere else that is clean , secure, and actually has staff on site. Or who will answer the phone. ... Read more

This is an absolute scam. Do not rent from here. The elevator is out of service (and people say it has been out of service since 2024). The website does not indicate anything about it. There is nobody on site. We are currently trying to get our money back and change into a new unit. The cancelling and getting a new unit has been a pain. Edit: The customer service called me and told me that the elevator has been out of service for only 2 weeks and will be out for at least few more weeks. So be aware. After they called me they informed me that they can’t update the website about elevator closures as they vary quite often. Apparently elevator not working since 2024 was written by another customer there and not accurate). We rented another unit in another location. We still did not receive a refund as a person has to come on site and verify the unit is indeed empty. However, while we were trying to rent a new unit, we couldn’t use the labor day discount as it was not a new account anymore. I think the internal system of public storage is lagging as we were transferred 5 times on 50 minute call. We were able to solve the issue by creating a new account. We were lucky we were two people. If there was only one person whose time was sensitive there would be no way to fix the issue until someone comes onsite. ... Read more

I was able to get a 5x5 spot at a very reasonable price point considering all the inflation across this region. I had no frills or add ons to deal with at the storage. Gee was able to get us the spot in no time. Plus she allowed us to use our own lock instead of upselling same lock for $19.99 which is very common at rest of the storage spots. You are forced to get their locks and can't count on your personal renters insurance. I love the fact the access is thru app where you got option to lock doors via app itself. Thank you Gee for amazing customer service. keep up the great work. ... Read more

The only thing I would change are the hours. Closing the gate at 6pm M-F and only open until 5pm on Sat-Sun, makes it difficult to make good use of prime moving time. I know one Public Storage location in Shoreline stays open until 9pm. That'd time would be perfect! ... Read more

Putting your things in storage is never an easy choice, but Alex made my decisions around storing my life as comfortable as possible. He had excellent recommendations and helped me pick the best unit for my needs. When it came time for me to end my contract and move out, Alex was again excellent and made the process seamless and worry-free. If you have to put your precious belongings into storage, I highly recommend doing it here because Alex is FABULOUS!! Thank you, Alex, for making this whole thing bearable. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Public Storage - 11512 Aurora Avenue North has to offer. These amenities include Indoor, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
