Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Just got a notification that my rate (signed up at a price of under $90/month which has increased to $120/month over the last few months) will be increased from $120/mo to $170/mo in a few weeks, an almost 50% increase. Sadly I will be forced to move my stored items elsewhere, this is an extremely anti-customer move on their part. Absolutely ridiculous and predatory billing practices. Edit: "thanks" for responding business owner. You going to take my feedback and not jack up my price or are you just going to post an empty platitude and continue being scummy to your customers? ... DO NOT USE THIS STORAGE FACILITY – Complete Nightmare This has been one of the most infuriating experiences I’ve ever had with any company. My friend has been overcharged, ignored, and left with zero support. No one is ever on site, they never return calls, and despite paying for her unit in full, they cut her lock without notice and locked her out of her own belongings. We now find a lock and seal on the unit that she did not put there, and she has no access to the things she’s actively paying for. She’s called, emailed, and texted—nothing. No response. Just automated messages telling her to retrieve her things even though she can’t get into the unit because of what THEY did. The time, stress, and frustration this has caused her is beyond comprehension. I don’t normally leave reviews, but maybe this will get their attention. This place is completely mismanaged and unprofessional. Avoid at all costs. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, go anywhere else. ... Read more

Very helpful staff! Clean, climate controlled, and convenient. Edit2: Local management at least got a deferral of my rate hike after this comment. Can’t complain about them at all, extremely responsive and helpful. Edit: Not the fault of local management, but PS will randomly raise your charge every 6 months or so as much as 25% and not inform you. Absolutely shocking to see my rate go from $171 to $266 with no warning from August 2024 to today. ... Read more

Signing up for a unit was very easy. When I needed to visit the site and look at the different sized spaces, a delightful person very patiently showed me all of my options and walked me through pros and cons of different units. Using the codes are easy and there always seems to be enough carts when I need to unload items. The space itself is very clean and well secured. I had used this site 12 years ago when I moved out of my condo and it was just as good then so that is why I opted to use it again. ... Read more

Used this storage unit and was happy for many months. My unit, as well as my whole floor (3rd) was broken into and there was no response from the company, no alerts sent out to other renters, no action taken. I spoke to the front desk there in person two days in a row with no action taken -- was basically just told, eh, this happens. They could easily get a security guard in there, or at least pay someone to watch the cameras that line every hall. Cannot fathom why they are not being proactive with letting people know their units were robbed. From talking with other renters can tell most floors were broken into ... Read more

I switched to a smaller unit the day before rent was due, and it was seamless. Robert, who usually works at other locations, provided great customer service. He set me up with a unit just a few doors down from my previous unit, for a smooth transition. I don't love that my rate increased significantly after 5 months, but at least for now, I have a reasonably priced unit that still fits all my stuff. I appreciate the quality customer service and easy process. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
