I rented a 10x20 unit at this Extra Space Storage location. The unit had an older door that let in large amounts of dirt and water, especially at the entrance. I reported this to the office multiple times, but no action was taken for several months. After seven months, I received a 30-day notice of a $100 rate increase. While this may be standard practice, the increase felt high to me. In the eighth month, I received general notices about “work being done at the facility” during certain dates. I followed the notice and did not go to the facility until weeks after the work was completed. When I arrived, I discovered that a new door and lock had been installed on my unit—but I had not been notified or given a key. My account was fully paid and in good standing, yet I was locked out. The office was closed, and the customer service line didn’t offer an option for this type of issue. When I finally reached a representative, she didn’t fully understand the situation. Eventually, I was connected with the manager, Justin Blair. He told me he had already gone home for the evening and that I would need to return the next day. After pressing further, he said he would contact his district manager and ultimately agreed to return to the facility. There was confusion about my location, despite me clearly stating I was at the Peoria, AZ facility. The manager insisted I was in another state, even though I was standing at my unit and he was in the onsite office. He never asked me to meet him there; he simply didn’t walk back to the unit and made me come to him. When I entered the office, his demeanor was unexpectedly cold and dismissive. He didn’t greet me, offer an apology, or acknowledge the mistake. When I tried to clarify the earlier confusion, he flatly told me I had misunderstood.. taking no responsibility for the situation. He asked for my ID, glanced at it for a second, then handed me new keys without saying a word. The entire interaction was uncomfortable, unprofessional, and unnecessarily rude. No one followed up with me afterward—not the manager or anyone else. My overall experience was disappointing due to the lack of communication, accountability, and especially the poor way I was treated during a moment when customer service mattered most. Even when your account is current and you’ve done everything right, you may still be treated as an inconvenience. That was my lasting impression. ... Read more

Just got back from getting a 10x10. The pricing is very fair and the lady at the counter, Angie was very nice throughout the process. She's the kind of person who makes everyone feel welcome, I will definitely be back.
