Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage at 1811 Adrian Road, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I closed my unit and clearly requested that my overpayment refund not be sent back to the original card because the card was already closed. Today customer service just told me the refund was still issued to that closed card. I had communicated this clearly with ALISHA, but my request was ignored. Thanks for being indifferent and disrespectful, and refusing to provide any confirmation. Guess who’s not getting the refund? Apparently not Alisha. Ignoring customer needs is the true key to success. Very frustrated here. the other 2 Asian ladies are much easier to talk to. ... Read more

Excellent facility! Awesome staff! Big thanks to Mike, who noticed that I had left a box with my belongings behind. He realized it was something important, called me, and saved my day. I also like the policy that allows you to opt out of insurance for the first month and bring yours later. However, the mandatory cylinder lock for $20 is a bit excessive for what is essentially a $5–$10 lock, but it’s fine. The pros outweigh the cons by a lot ... Read more

I’m very impressed! The people working there, especially Mike are all very friendly, even the guy replacing the fire extinguishers was nice and friendly and helpful. The building is immaculately clean and my space was perfect! My only suggestion so far is to enable the indoor security pad for the door to operate by Bluetooth from my phone instead of my having to punch in a code each time. For some reason the indoor keypads never show as connected for phone entry using the app. ... Read more

The elevators are down for couple months already. They said it’s not their responsibility. They should’ve partially refunded us, or lowered the rates for us. We’re paying the storage with the use of elevators, not stairs only. ... Read more

Lowering the review to a 1 star bc out of the last 5 times I came, with 0-1 cars parked by my building, there were no carts. — Public Storage puts profit over customer experience. In two years they increased my monthly payment by 70%. And the experience has gotten worse. No complain on the team of associates in the facility. But the investment they do in the property to justify such high rent raises…. it’s lacking! We used to have 4 carts in my lobby. The last few times I went there, there were 0 carts. With 0 cars parked there. Having carts is such a basic need for a storage unit. They expanded the facility a lot so I assume they moved those carts to other lobbies and didn’t new ones to save money. BUY MORE CARTS!! They also added a new gate that makes it annoying to get in/out. You cannot open the pedestrian gate, it needs a key. And you have spend time to open to the car gate to get in and get out of the facility. To get out!! I understand they might want to add security. But they could improve the experience by (1) read license plates and open the gate for cars registered under an account, (2) allow cars to leave without spending time opening the gate, and (3) allow pedestrians to use the code / app to go through the pedestrian gate. STOP ADDING FRICTION!! Do better Public Storage! ... Read more

I’ve been using the Public Storage facility in Burlingame since 2020, and it has been an absolute pleasure working with Lee. From the very beginning, Lee has been incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and attentive. About a year ago, I encountered an issue when the door of my storage unit was damaged, likely from another client accidentally pushing a cart into it. Lee was the first to contact me the day she identified the damage (she does regular checks on the units), showing genuine empathy for the situation and immediately taking action to resolve it. Although I was away during that time, once I returned, Lee worked closely with me to assess the damage (thankfully, none of my belongings were affected). She quickly helped me switch to a nearby unit and ensured the transition was as smooth as possible. Lee was incredibly patient, addressing all my questions, and made sure I was settled into the new unit without any hassle. Her professionalism and commitment to ensuring I was fully taken care of truly stood out. ... Read more

This has been the worst experience. I made a rental reservation through the app and received a message the next day that the rental storage was ready. I loaded a lot of luggage and drove 40 minutes to the storage gate, where I entered the access code. However, a message appeared saying I needed to meet the manager to verify my ID before entering. But the office was locked, and no one was inside. I have been waiting for an hour and a half since 11 a.m., but no one has shown up. When I call the phone number listed on the door, I only reach an answering machine and cannot connect with any staff. I've already paid the rental fee, but the door won't open. Isn't this a scam? I need to head to the airport, but I have no idea how long I will have to wait. This is completely ruining my schedule. ... Read more

Price gouging. I rented a small space at this location for a few years. During that time, PS raised the rent several times, adding up to over 150%!! Last month, they raised the rent again by almost 30%. Now, my rent was almost three times (!!!) compared to 3~4 years ago. I had an autopay set up, and they were just drawing money from my account like it was their piggy bank. I called this location to inquire about this ongoing price increase. Their response was almost as appalling as the rent increase. It is natural and reasonable for a customer to call the service in situations like this to inquire, and yet their response was as if my inquiry was totally frivolous. I had to tell the person to calm down multiple times. In essence, what they were saying was, you signed the contract, and the contract states that they can raise the rent any time by any amount with a 30 day notice. If you don't like it, just move out. Why are you calling us? And, she hung up on me. I called the PS customer service for some "explanation", I guess. But, again, the same message. I signed the contract and I signed up for auto pay, and they could withdraw money from my bank as much as they liked, with a 30 day notice. Their message was loud and clear: They can do anything they like as long as it's in the contract, and as long as it's not illegal. They even called me stupid with so many words, because I didn't read, and yet signed, the contract. They called me even more stupid because I signed up for autopay without fully understanding its implications. You always have 30 days to move out every time we increase the rent. Fair and square. On top of this, the "customer service" person was unnecessarily mean-spirited, to mildly put it (beyond just reading the script provided by the management). Her tone was, don't let the door hit you on your way out. BTW, who thinks, and acts, like this? As long as it's not illegal, they can do anything??? The vast majority of us do not live like that. We think about ethics, and social responsibilities, and what not. Business practices by Public Storage appalls me. It disguusts me. Especially, at this time of economic uncertainty due to high inflation. Many people have lost jobs. And yet, companies like PS engage in profiteering and price gouging. The saddest part is, these people working for PS will eventually lose their jobs. This "customer service" person will likely be replaced by chatbots, for instance. Companies who scruw their customers will likely scruw their employees as well. I feel pity for these "loyal" employees. I was traveling at the time, but I immediately changed my plan and came back. (It was really inconvenient and it cost me a lot of extra money, but I didn't care. PS was surely praying on people like me, for their lives being inconvenienced.) I donated almost everything I had in the storage to Good Will and libraries, and to random people on the street. I vacated the place, and I decided to never use Public Storage ever again. Over the past few decades, I used PS in various locations, and I ended up wasting tens of thousands of dollars, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars. I finally realized how stupid I was. I really didn't have to be told that by these mindliss people with no ethical standards. If you think about renting a unit at this place, think again. Donate, or throw away, your stuff. It's not worth it. BTW, I reported this to FTC. I know it's a long shot. But, please do so if you think that this kind of business practice is unacceptable. If enough people complain, then they will do something about this unethical business practice. I really hope they do. ... Read more

Had a reservation for a 5x11 but found a better deal for a 5x15 online. I made the reservation for the new 5x15 as well, since why wouldn't we want more space for less money? I called the office and spoke to the manager, Lee, who explained to me the reason for the special low price was that it is actually three 5x5s side-by-side with the middle walls knocked out. So instead of your typical 5ft. wide and 15ft. deep, it goes only 5ft. deep and 15ft. wide (across). Other drawback was that there are 3 separate doors, all needing individual locks.*** We decided to keep both reservations so we could see both units and make a decision from there. They told me that only one person was allowed in the office at a time, and face-coverings were required (good). When we arrived, Lee informed us that despite our reservation, there were no 5x11s left, only 5x10. After looking at the units, we decided that the extra space at the better deal was worth having to deal with multiple doors/locks, and went with the 5x15. They have carts available to use that are generally available depending on how many people are there. The lights are all on sensors, so while it seems dark, things light up as you walk. The floors are soft and smooth which makes a big difference after storing somewhere that had very loud and uneven floors. To access our building, you do have to get out of your car to enter the code into the intercom box, which is a negative. The convenience and security of being able to pull up and enter your code from your vehicle makes a difference, especially for my wife feeling safe if she is going alone. They have security cameras covering the gate entrance/exit area, but nothing once you get further in. Part of me wishes they had more coverage once inside, but their reason of protecting people's privacy also makes some sense. The units themselves seem very secure. Our last place we ended up having to get a collapsable shower rod and curtain to hang on the inside because you could see through the sides of the doors right into the unit. This Public Storage does not have that issue, which is really nice and comforting. There is a steel mesh type cover over the top in our building, which seems secure so people don't come through the top. Overall we are happy with our move and decision to switch to Public Storage. This location is convenient off the freeway and we feel comfortable with the security of our stuff. Lee was very nice and easy to work with. From what I've gathered, she has been the manager there for 10+ years and runs the show for all things logistics and security. The process of doing all the paperwork and setting everything up was very quick, smooth, and easy. They were very cautious about staying a good distance form each other and even made my wife stay outside initially until they let her come in and stand in the far corner (lol). We felt safe and comfortable the whole time which was important to our experience and desire to stat long-term. They have an ongoing deal for $1 first month's rent and 15%-30% off rent if booked online. We plan to stay here for as long as possible until they raise our rent to the point where it's unaffordable and we have to move on. Hoping that doesn't happen! Thanks again Lee and the rest of the PS B-Game staff! ***NOTE: They use special bolt-style locks that are specifically designed for their storage doors, meaning you have to purchase a lock through them ($20/ea). If you have your own pad lock, you can use that as additional security, but their lock is required to store there. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Public Storage - 1811 Adrian Road has to offer. These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Public Storage - 1811 Adrian Road can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 20 to 250 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Public Storage - 1811 Adrian Road come at a variety of prices, starting from $20 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $769 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
