Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage at 1600 Fairway Drive, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I do acknowledge first of all that I did not check the gate hours prior to renting a unit from this location. So I rented a unit online and paid for the first got the second month free loaded up the truck went down to the facility. got there a little bit after six and gate was locked. Location was closed. Cannot get into unit cannot get into facility at that point that to myself 6 PM closing time doesn’t work with me so I called the number to Close out unit get refund couldn’t get a hold of anyone In facility Had no one living on property to oversee facility as some storage locations do. Was told that Per policy, we can only issue a refund if the account closed the same day of your move-in date now being that there was no one to speak to after 6 PM how does the company give you any time to close the account on the same day when they’re closed after 6 PM very unhappy with the way That I’m being treated contacted the branch they said a district manager will get back to me whether or not I’ll get a refund or not again I never access the gate never moved in. I tried calling the same night. I left a voicemail followed up the next morning, and I closed the account immediately. And also, why is it that on one star or two star reviews? None of the employees are responding to any of them they sure do respond to the five star review reviews. ... Read more

We reserved a 10 by 20 unit, but upon arrival on October 6, 2025, at approximately 3:22 pm, the Hispanic female assistant presented unit 9812, which did not match our reserved unit size. She offered an alternative unit at four times the online reservation price, but the unit displayed was significantly smaller, with a shallow height, inconsistent with a 10 by 20 unit. Based on my experience with unit rentals, I estimate unit 9812 to be a 10 by 10 unit and the height inconveniently short in comparison to many other units I've seen and rented. The Hispanic employee demonstrated poor customer service skills, as she appeared to retaliate for not answering her initial phone call when we made the reservation. At the time of her call, I was extremely busy and unaware that I had missed her call. I intentionally did not book the reservation on the day she called, anticipating my busy schedule on those days. * In addition, I let the Hispanic female employee know we were not interested in the unit and she did not cancel our reservation. ... We rented a unit for only 3 months, and all of our items were covered in rat poop and pee. Even after just a month we noticed droppings everywhere and some of our things being bit through. It is ridiculous. It's such a bummer that we had to get rid of so much furniture and other items because they were pooped/peed on or chewed through. You're basically paying for your stuff to get trashed. NOT worth it!! If you absolutely need to go with this place, make sure to secure your things very well (no open boxes, bags, or furniture). This picture is after we moved all of our stuff out, after just 3 months look how much rat poop there is, not including the ones on our stuff. It's disgusting. ... Read more

I can't put into words how scammy this place (public storage in general) is. I've rented multiple units here. Got in at a good price and in 1 year have gone through multiple rent increases on all units. Worse yet if you go to their website you see that getting a new unit(not a sale price) there is cheaper than what they are raising my rent to Basically they know it's a hassle to move all your stuff so they will keep jacking price up as long as they can. And also, these units are the WORST for dirt, dust, spiders and such. First time I went to unit after 3 months of storage my spaces looked as if they had been through a sandstorm!! ... Read more

Clean and place looks secured with all the cameras. Stacy is amazing! She is the one who assisted us with booking, showing us the storage, guiding us with what size we need for our stuff and making everything smooth and fast for us. No stress booking!! Few minutes we are moving and storing already! ... Read more

Hi, We came in to rent the 5'X10' outdoor access locker. My friend looked at the unit and paid for the for the first month, plus $29 process fee. When I went to the unit ten minutes later, it looked too small to be 5'X10'. So I measured it. It is 5'X8.6' which isn't large enough to hold all of our stuff. So we went in to cancel it, because they falsely advertised. Stacy, the one helping us said "well, it's as is and there is nothing we can do" I said, you advertised a certain size and rented us a certain size. You and Public Storage deceived us and everyone else renting from you. We just want our money refunded. "Sorry, you rented as is" So this was two days ago and we are still waiting for a refund. Unfortunately, we have to take this up with the Atty General, BBB, KTLA News, Face Book, TikTok, and IG. Being that we have over 60 million views on our posts, we should be able to get the word out. Oh, lovely facilities and very secure. Sorry it didn't work out. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Public Storage - 1600 Fairway Drive has to offer. These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Online Payment and RV Storage. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
