BEFORE YOU RENT HERE: This place looks like it hasn't been upgraded since the 1970s. It appears to be a cash cow. For the amount of money you pay for these overpriced units you might want to check around as it might be worth your time to go to a nearby town. I just called around and I got two other quotes that were 1/2 - 2/3 the price for a slightly bigger unit with thicker walls and better insulation. One was indoors, cooler, and they have a drinking or fountain and a bathroom in the office with dollies that you can use. Every time we go here the office is closed. The lock they sold us a key that fits other unit locks! We know this because we accidentally got the wrong aisle and unit, thinking it was our unit! When you see this many 5 Star reviews you have to wonder!... I am a professional and I just state the facts that I experience. That is the whole point of Google Reviews. Bootlicking is not the purpose. Five stars has to mean overall excellence, not because you like someone. 1. Regular price increases. I have a small storage shed and it is $151 per mo! They force you to have insurance by adding that to your bill. I was waiting to say that does not cover theft. How much of that is actually a TIP, an overcharge, for the benefit of the corporation? 2. The walls are paper thin drywall and rattle. Someone next to your adjacent storage room could literally punch the thin drywall and enter your shed through the cardboard thin walls. 3. The place is extremely dusty and items in your unit will get extremely hot. You MUST cover your stuff. A fine sand and silt get on everything because the rubber insulation under the door is inadequate. They should pressure wash this place monthly. Dust and sand flow right under the doors. 4. There are no check out dollys, no water fountains, no bathroom, it is the absolute CHEAPEST storage facility we have ever used. We used it because we were moving and this was the closest facility. We should have looked around. 5. We drove 60+ miles to get some things out and the computerized code entry machine did not work so no one could get into their storage. AND...no one answered the office number or answered the door. We waited for over 2 hours. Left, got lunch, tried again. Crazy. Maybe the live-in caretakers are really nice people but the company needs to get people there to man the office during regular office hours. There were 6 cars that we saw leave angrily, including our rented van, that could not get in to our own storage sheds. So we wasted gas, rental van fees, and tons of time on these idiots. 6. This is all about taking your money with the highest charges possible, and a bare, bare, bare bones, old, old, old outdated facility. For Palm Desert you would expect more. 7. DO NOT BUY the locks that they sell you. My key for that lock actually worked on another unit! I accidentally opened the wrong shed's lock because I accidentally went to the wrong aisle (they all look alike and are poorly marked). So, the keys can open their other locks!!!! WTH! 8. In my opinion, based on this location, I think this company is a not worth the prices they charge. 9. Another thing: they use that Ai phone nonsense and finally you'll get someone from the Philippines or Vietnam, so good luck being put on hold forever just to get a human (in another country who can barely speak clear English). 10. Frequently, there is no one available in the office. The door is locked and the hours are a banker hours. 11. There are absolutely no lights. Not in the units. Not outside. No receptacles either. 12. Being in PD the units' extreme heat can destroy your delicate items. GET AN INDOOR STORAGE FACILITY. Prices do not match the quality and inconvenience by a mile. ... Read more

I am thrilled to report that when I was absent minded enough to forget to close and lock my locker, I got a phone call from the office who offered to close it and put a lock on until I returned. Above and beyond and I'm thrilled that they are so caring. Thank you! ... Read more

For office hours being as minimal as they are I would expect someone to be in the office for them. I live out of state and just about every time I come here there’s no one in the office when I need them. They’re supposedly open 10-6 mon-sat but when I get here at 10:15 there’s a sign on the door saying they’ll be in the office at 2? That’s half of their business hours for the day. As soon as I’m able I will be emptying my unit and taking my business elsewhere. ... Read more

I wouldn't rent here. The just increased our rates. It's no longer the most economical place in the region. Also: I had a big load of stuff to put in the storage shed, with a hired worker to help me. The electronic gate was broken. No one could get in. Three of us were waiting in line for somebody to come out from the caretaker's house and let us in. We called the number several times and knocked on the door and nobody answered. There's no emergency number posted anywhere. It's not really the caretakers fault. it's a corporate problem. There's no emergency number. The number posted is the house office and all you get is a voicemail from the caretaker. So we wasted one whole day of rent at our residence, and one day, $200, of worker time. Did they reimburse us in any way shape or form. Hell no!!!!! Instead I just got a notice of a rate INCREASE! Another thing: The walls on some of the units aren't even walls ---they're just thin press boards. If you had a unit next door and were a crook, you'd just simply punch the flimsy wall right open. Also, this place was poorly designed because the corridors go east west. That means there's never any shade. hotter than hell in there. Also the unit was dusty and dirty. ... Read more
