I was moving from a public storage location to this one and had a movers moving my things when the site manager said they were closed — even though the movers were past the gates. He didn’t care I had all my things ready to unload and paying movers by the hour and literally no where else to move to. I asked him if there was anything we could do and not only was he rude, kinda smirking “you should have read it in your contract terms,” he started threatening us that if we unloaded the truck, there was going to be a violation in our unit and we were going to be cited for trespassing. I was shocked. This is not the kind of response you expect to hear while moving into a new storage unit. He could have shared all he needed to share without threatening us. I didn’t realize public storage could be so bad. I had a great experience in Castro Valley. I should have read the 1-star reviews tho, kinda tells you everything you need to know about this place. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
