I had a storage unit here for over 6 months. I work 12 hr shifts 5-6 days a week so I'd only be able to stop by once maybe twice a week to either grab things or organize it a little better. On one of my days off I spent a few hrs organizing and separating things I wanted bring up to Utah where I own a house. After being there for a few hours Cindy angrily walked up to my unit saying I'd been there for 3 hours and I had to leave immediately. I had an air mattress blown up to sit on considering I needed a break and had no chairs in my unit. I gave her no issues whatsoever and told her I'd leave considering I was just about done anyways. A week later I made a visit to my unit and had no issues getting in but when I put my code in to get out the gate would not open and it said "please see manager". This was after office hours so I called them and they said they could give me a code to get me out but I needed to speak with a manager next time I wanted to get in. The 2 codes that they gave me did not work so they told me I needed to call the nonemergency police to give me their code to get me out. I called them and even their code did not work so they had to dispatch an officer to get me out. The next day Cindy called me telling me that they changed my access times to office hours because she "caught me sleeping in my unit". That was a complete lie and when I told her she was lying she said "I saw you lying on the air mattress", which again was a lie. I was sitting on my air mattress to take a break when I was there but when she physically saw me I was standing next to it, not even sitting on it. She did not give me any warning or written notice that my hours were being changed to office hours so I could be babysat anytime I needed to visit my storage unit that I rarely went to. I paid for full access hours when I signed my papers and she refused to change them back. Not to mention raising the price of the unit I initially agreed to. After that I decided I needed to move my things out of that unit. I work from 6am-6pm so I basically could not move my things out aside from the 1 day I have off. I showed up at 3pm on a Sunday telling them I was moving my things out because that was the only time I had access to a truck to get my things out and they still denied me access because they had to be there when I did so. They illegally held my property hostage by not giving me the access that I paid for especially without any written notice. After going through the nightmare I was finally able to get my things but not before calling them every time I needed them the open the gate. I have never seen someone on such a power trip then I did with Cindy. All because she saw that I had an air mattress in my unit. No warning whatsoever, just straight to unexpectedly locking me out of my own unit after I gave her no issues whatsoever. Misery loves company and I'd be miserable if I was unhealthy living in a trailer on a storage company's property. Save your money and the headache dealing with someone like her and go to one of the many storage companies nearby. The place is littered with homeless anyways. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that SmartStop Self Storage - 7211 Arlington Avenue has to offer. These amenities include Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted and Online Payment. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by SmartStop Self Storage - 7211 Arlington Avenue can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 60 to 195 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by SmartStop Self Storage - 7211 Arlington Avenue come at a variety of prices, starting from $127 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $338 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
