I have been renting there for quite some time, everyone that works there is very nice and friendly. Never had any issues. When I need to call the main office Martha and other onsite manager always return my calls promptly if they can't answer. ???? The facility is super easy to get to, fairly quiet street with no traffic. Easy access with now new app and keyless entry, very convenient. Sometimes maybe if you come in at a bad time when everyone is there you might have hard time getting a dolly, plan accordingly. But overall it's great and clean. Anything you need jus call office and they will halp you anyway they can. Thank you for great experience. ?? ... Read more

Public Storage at this location, maybe all I’m not sure, are crooks if you’re a military member using it for deployment. I have been using this unit since May of last year, so may 2024 and from that time my 5x10 without explanation went up the following: May 1st 2024 $89 Oct 1st 2024 $ 119 April 1st 2025 $164 You’re telling me in 11 months you raised my storage rent by $75 a month? For military members who have no choice but to pay this becuase we are physically not there to move our stuff, it’s exploitation. No where in the fine print did it say my move in rate was promotional, and that they would raise my rent so high. It’s shady tactics, that they have people move in and become reliant on their unit only to raise it by almost double, anticipating you can’t move. These units are not air conditioned, and it gets very hot in the summer here based on the design of the building. Also, to add onto this the office is never open so I can’t easily get ahold of someone to talk about this. I am leaving this establishment and going somewhere more user friendly. ... Read more

I have read the reviews and i see all of the positive reviews and that is NOT the experience i have had. First, they have it set up where you sign up, pay, get your gate code etc, all online. So theorerically, you can reserve it, then come down and drop your stuff of. What they dont tell you is that, after you book online, get your code, drive down in a Uhaul that youre planning to return after unloading that evening, there is a good possibility your code will not work. Customer service wont be able to help you either if its a weekend or after hours or whatever. Then you have to contact the office on the next avail business day (which monday was a holiday) , so you call on Tuesday and you have to make an appointment to come ahow ID. Keep in mind i have a giant UHaul still loaded with stuff that i have no where to put and ive already paid for this storage for a month, i am now paying for the wasted trip down and home (79 cents per mile driven) and ive had to extend the uhaul for 3 more days to wait for the access to the storage. So now im paying $29 per day for an additional 3 days because i cant get into my newly signed up unit and ive already paid for it and dont have the extra money to pay for another one somewhere else. So for me, this was NOT a good experience. I wasnt offered any discount or even an apology for the huge inconvieince and huge cost i had to pay due to their failure to let me know i wasnt granted access to my unit same day as the website confirmed i was. Very frustrating experience. We will see if they redeem themself over the next few months while im utilizing their facility. ... Read more

Have been renting here for a while and there are a few big issues. The office is never open. you need to make an appointment or go to another public storage if you want anything from there. The biggest issue I can see is the clientele. I have experienced a lot of weird people around this place. People empty their entire units in the hallways so you can't even get into your unit. I have heard loud fights happening in other units when I am in mine. There are people who pull their cars in front of the gates and never open the gate, they just sit on their phones and block it so you can't come in. I have had less than stellar experiences with the staff here. I have overhead people in other units say they are storing shelves of car batteries and other chemicals. It's really a shame because this could be a great place. I feel like perhaps a security person could clean the place up nicely. As of right now it can be a bit sketchy going in there. I had a guy approach me one night to ask if I was there to purchase the "scooter" he even did the finger parenthesis. So wouldn't be shocked if some dealing is happening there. May be moving out of here soon. It stinks to drive 20 minutes to storage to discover some rude people have filled the entire hallway and you can't get to your unit. It happens a lot here. Also the app feature that opens the gate has not been working for a while very well. Also as others have stated here I have found tons of ants in the unit and there is no food or anything in there so I have no idea why. ... Read more

I have been doing the storage unit thing here in San Diego for decades. Out of all the many options available this one is a hidden gem. This is important living here because the bulk of the population is living in smaller quarters than the rest of the country. As a result most have to use have to use outside storage facilities. First of all this location is great. Small side street with little to no traffic. The site is always clean. The manager is always available, which can be very important if issues arise. Never had one in the year I have been here. She always has a smile and is positive and helpful when needed. Many thanks. Phil ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Public Storage - 8000 Raytheon Road has to offer. These amenities include Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Public Storage - 8000 Raytheon Road can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 25 to 300 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Public Storage - 8000 Raytheon Road come at a variety of prices, starting from $61 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $518 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
