Read some helpful reviews of Stor-em Self Storage at 4800 Pacific Hwy, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I would not recommend Store’em Self Storage to anyone. My unit was broken into, and to my shock, I found out there are no cameras inside the building—so there was no way to prove who did it. On top of that, the place has a serious problem with vagrants hanging around and even living out of some of the units, which makes the facility feel unsafe. To make matters worse, I discovered rats had damaged some of my belongings, which clearly shows they don’t keep up with pest control. When I brought these issues to management, they were completely unhelpful and apathetic—zero concern or effort to address the problems. The hours are also very inconvenient, and even when they are supposed to be open, there’s often no one there to assist. If you’re looking for a secure, well-maintained storage facility with decent customer service, look elsewhere. Store’em Self Storage is not worth the risk. ... Read more

Even though in a shady part of town, the price was right and we always felt safe. The place has an automatic gate and when they are closed, there is a watchman. We did terminate our storage unit as we moved and told them we still needed to remove the trash (they kept the trash-bins locked, ridiculously, as you need them when moving out so folks just drop their trash all around them), but when we got there we put in our code just as someone was leaving. We both entered and exited at the same time, but it turned out only they had access so we got locked in after hours. Even thought I told them we were coming back to sweep and they said we were paid through the end of the month, they canceled our gate code. Fortunately the watchman arrived and let us out. But overall, it was a great place for storage. We would rent there again if the need arouse. ... Read more

Probably the biggest scam of a company I’ve dealt with in San Diego. First of all, I negotiated a rate, that was high, but acceptable. 4 months later they jacked the rate up by 30%+. They were surprised that I ended my rental. They insisted on “fire inspections” 3 times in 5 months that meant I had to visit onsite on their terms to unlock my unit or pay them for new locks. They rented a space to me that I SPECIFICALLY stated was for a car, but then after move-in was notified by email that I had to empty it of all fuel and disconnect battery to store. They mentioned none of this at time of rental. They harassed me for signatures that I’d already provided. I moved out a day early 5/9 but access codes were already suspended. There was no one on site to provide access to move out. I had to call customer service to arrange an emergency code. Now I have a bill for $362 claiming I moved out 5 days after my contract ended and 6 days after I actually moved out. SCAM SCAM SCAM. You call customer service and they tell you they can’t actually help because they don’t have access to customer information; that they have to email the folks onsite. It’s possible that this is just a massively disjointed bureaucratic inefficient and dirty storage facility with shady pricing practices. It’s also possible that if it quacks like a duck it’s a duck. As in a rip-off, gouging, train wreck of a company. Do NOT do business with this company. You WILL REGRET IT. ... Read more

There was a break in this morning. Buyers beware. I brought a friend here because I referred him. We shared a Uhaul with I get some items here. The staff showed my friend to his locker and they discovered a previous bolt had been cut and the unit was ransacked. The staff was unaware their lockers were compromised. This unit was inside on a 2nd floor as well. I was embarrassed I referred my friend. I called several numbers to speak with a manager to express my concern and my call was not returned. Be warned, they do not share information about break-ins with tenants: the call center informed they do not have a policy in place and do not share this news with renters. I asked if they could review the security footage and the manager said, “between moving new people in, my normal duties, and h helping you, there’s no time to look at security footage.” My take away from the experience: this facility gets broken into so regularly, they are complacent with it and don’t care about protecting their tenants or their belongings. Do not rent from this location. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Stor-em Self Storage - 4800 Pacific Hwy has to offer. These amenities include Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Stor-em Self Storage - 4800 Pacific Hwy can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 25 to 400 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Stor-em Self Storage - 4800 Pacific Hwy come at a variety of prices, starting from $90 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $1,000 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
