This is one of the worst businesses in Tahoe. We had 2 storage units and they both got broken into, one had water damage in it so we moved into a new unit, and then that one got broken into and our things were stolen. They say they have security but they don't. There's no consistency between the two women who work there, so it's hard to trust what they say. Terrible service. Don't go here if you want your things safe. ... Read more

This is the 2nd time I have used TMS when moving bck and fourth the last 6 years and they are fabulous. The facility is clean, temp controlled, secure, not open 24 hours which I prefer in this thief ridden town and the employees are extremely nice and understanding. ... Read more

This place is a joke! They want 7 days written notice of vacancy. But they also want you to call the day of and give notice. When you call day of it they say that you didn't give proper seven day notice and I'll keep your deposit. I've used them twice continue to have problems and will never go back ... Read more

Tom will give you lip service and take your money but when it comes time to returning your many calls and your deposit, he is on vacation out of the office. Office help is useless as they lie about returning your calls and refuse to call Tom (the "BOSS") even though they have his number. This place is a JOKE. Find alternative storage. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
