Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I've always had bad experiences with other storage facilities and their staff, but here at Public Storage I had a great experience thanks to Edna. She was very patient and friendly, and she even took the time to guide me around the area to make sure everything was good and to my liking. Because of her kindness and excellent customer service, I highly recommend this Public Storage location. 5 Stars Across The Board?? ... Read more

I'm going to escalate this issue to the top, i even saw how she speaks to people using the term "paisa" when she was talking on the phone. Public storage do better. ... Read more

This has been one of the best experiences ever! What great energy and human! Angie from public storage was so helpful, friendly and kind. Since it’s my first time ever renting a space I had a lot of questions and she answered all of them and didn’t mind to repeat anything if needed. The whole process was smooth and easy. Truly an amazing experience and I got my space which I’m super happy with! Thank you Angie?? ... Read more

I've never been threatened to be locked the gate in WHILE my movers were unloading, until Monday. Moving is already stressful but being told "you will be locked in if you don't leave " is some bad customer service, and with a nasty attitudetowardsmy movers, myselfand my mom. Had about 5 minutes left of unloading. I had a unit here for 10 years, now, sadly, I am using this place again. It's convenient and that's about all. Whomever worked Monday should take her attitude and shove it. I'm paying a good amount of money a month, I should be allowed to have 5 minutes to put the rest of my stuff in my unit without a nasty, rude attitude. ... Read more

DO NOT STORE YOUR BELONGINGS HERE – REPEATED BREAK-INS, NO SECURITY, JUST HIGHER RENT I strongly advise against using Public Storage in Sylmar (or any location where they neglect security). My unit was broken into along with at least 15 others, resulting in over $50,000 worth of stolen materials. To make matters worse, the security cameras were non-operational at the time of the break-in, meaning there was no footage to identify the thieves or recover stolen property. After the break-in, Public Storage offered no assistance or compensation. Instead, I was forced to move everything by myself on short notice, just two and a half hours before closing on a Friday, with no help from staff. Despite sending multiple emails and phone calls, I have never received a single response from management regarding my loss, their failure to provide basic security, or any steps to fix the situation. If that wasn’t bad enough, another break-in just occurred at this location, where a van was targeted—and the security cameras are STILL not working. Multiple customers, including myself, have requested increased security, including properly functioning cameras, after these repeated break-ins. Public Storage has completely ignored these requests and done NOTHING to improve safety. Instead, they’ve only responded by increasing the rent! Key Issues to Be Aware Of: Multiple break-ins at this location, with no added security measures. Security cameras have been non-functional for months. Public Storage has refused to acknowledge customer complaints. Instead of fixing security, they keep increasing rent. Zero accountability for stolen property or customer inconvenience. Bottom Line: This Public Storage location is NOT SAFE. If you care about your belongings, do not store them here. They refuse to provide basic security while continuing to raise prices. Choose another storage company that values its customers and their property. ... Read more

Very bad service. Carlos would not give me his last name. I walked in told him I was using the bathroom. He asked if I was a tenant. I told him I was. He then was very rude and tried to kick me out while being aggressive. Customers should not be treated hostile. Carlos has very bad customer service. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
