Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage at 1819 Nelson Road, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I have had good luck with the new owners. I had questions on my rental rates and they were very quick to respond and very courteous. The facility is still kept very clean and well maintained. I would recommend them to my friends, family, neighbors, etc. ... Read more

****** BEWARE******** New Ownership********* Do NOT use this facility. Things were good BEFORE they were bought. Not only have prices almost doubled but they didn’t even tell anyone about change in ownership. I could always find help with previous owners. Someone was always available in the office or phone to assist you. Can’t get ahold of ANYONE now, not even using the 24 hour number. Bums are often within the gated area and have been approached by them. They now have keypad locks to access indoor units. However, when your unit is in isle H and they give you the access code to isle A with NO WAY to contact anyone. This place is a joke. Save your money and the frustration. Go somewhere else. ... * Im telling you, all the good reviews are very old or wrote by them and their friends. These people are scam, artists, and they are the worst people to work with, for anything!!* This was the worst experience I've ever had renting a unit to store my things. Started with the initial move in, when one of the days I was moving all my things in I was 2 minutes leaving late, and the next day I was 20 minutes late leaving. I was told that they were going to cancel my in contract with them and I would have, until the end of the month to move my things out, mind you I had just moved all my stuff in. All for leaving a little bit late. I was able to beg them to allow me to keep my things there still and I was constantly being harassed by one of the workers. Every time she saw me pull in, she would watch me like I was going to steal something. When they tell you climate controlled, I was told they mean "furnace". Anywhere in the building is temperatures hotter then able to handle during anytime of the summer days. I'm not sure about the winter, but the summertime is miserable. It made me absolutely hate my things and I started giving them all away because I couldn't even stand going through my unit to see what I needed or didn't need. Then they lock you out of accessing the property, if you are only 5 days late on payment, which is fine. I get that. but, when I am up-to-date on my payment they will play games with you and they will lock you out of the facility saying that your trying to access it after hours, right? When, in fact, it was only 730pm (they allow access till 9pm) I could not go to my unit that night when I really needed some things out of it. There is never anyone on the property and forget trying to reach anyone anywhere else after hours or if no one is there during normal business hours, which happens allot. And the worst of all is the price increases. I rented a unit at $165 a month and now they are moving it up $230 a month. Well, I'm sorry, but that furnace is not worth $10 .Let alone $230. I will be moving my stuff out of that unit, and I will be so glad when i'm gone. That whole place has been so miserable to me that I have given up even caring about any of my personal belongings any longer and just want to get rid of it all and start over because I refuse to pay for a facility to lock me out when I need my stuff and play power trips on top of the cost raising. Save yourself the trouble and find anywhere else to rent from, this place is miserable. Im worried they will see this before I'm gone and not give me access to the property like they have over and over. I should have moved out when they wanted to end my contract and I would have saved myself so much trouble ... Read more

Clean, online setup is nice. A little miffed that when I gave notice on the unit, they told me the 29th would be my move out, as printed on the postcard they sent me. But then they put me down for a move out the day before, the 28th. Luckily, I checked the app and noticed the misinformation, and was able to move out a day early. ... Read more

My things were kept safe and secure for several months over the winter with no water damage. All the units are behind a locked gate with personal entry codes, we were able to get a 20 foot U-Haul into and out of the area (granted I had a unit close to the entry gate, but we had to turn it 180 degrees inside the complex), and the office staff are very helpful! ... Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Public Storage - 1819 Nelson Road has to offer. These amenities include Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted and Online Payment. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
