I've been with them for years and never had any complaints. I accidentally clicked the wrong link to opt out of my payment reminder and was one day late on my payment. I called prime storage and they notified me that I opted out and that's the reason I did not receive my reminder and said that they would do their best with upper management to get me a refund of my late fee. The girl I spoke with also said she had signed me up for a monthly email reminder because neither one of us could figure out how to opt back into my text message reminder. Their prices kept going up every 4-5 months.I was with this storage facility since 2021. They have a serious roach problem un which I discovered when I was moving my items out of the facility . My initial move in with Prime Storage was mediocre. I was able to attain my storage facility through the website and it was a simple and easy process and definitely convenient for me as I'm dealing with the loss of 4 immediate family members along with all of their possessions. I called to inform them I was coming and was informed that the office would be open until 6, I arrived at 4:45 to find the office closed. Unfortunately I had to call the after hours emergency number to get my gate code which was inconvenient.
Im in the process of going through the possessions of 4 households and the facility I'm at is perfect for that. I was informed by employees that I was not allowed to stay at the unit to do this and was only to come and pick up or drop off items, not to be inside of the unit for any length of time with the door half open. It being hot as it is and raining sporadically throughout the day, I put the door down half way to not have rain come in also to keep it cooler with my solar powered fan.
I appreciate the convience of the online move in process but I am not happy with the guidelines that i was informed about as to what I can or cannot do with the contents of my unit and the time spent there doing it. While I can sympathize with Prime Storage and the problems they have dealing with people trying to reside in the units, I am not impressed with their Gustapo way of policing the customers, their belongings and their time spent at the unit. ... Typical corporate take over! Forcing fees and heard that they hit your credit if you lose your storage unit!!! Probably the most unethical and deceptive business practice ever!!! You miss a month, $175... they auction off your personal things.. typically for more than the amount owed.. then they Pocket the extra making a profit on your misfortune... then they hit your credit with a derogatory credit line for the unpaid storage fees!!!
