I’ve been coming here for about 4 years and sending all of my clients here to park their RVs. I generally pick up the rv and bring it elsewhere for a rental. Today I while entering the gate I was yelled at for not waiting for it to close behind me. After that it was discovered I was not an actual leaseholder they banned me from the property. Never had an issue there before and have been onsite hundreds of times on behalf of my clients. I guess it’s a new rule to wait for the gate to close behind you. We store RVs all over the state and it’s the first time I’ve heard the tenant is responsible for making sure no one follows them in. Let’s just say someone does follow me in what’s next? Should I confront them? Should I get out of my truck and say no please don’t follow me..enter your code? Yea that’s not the tenants responsibility. Maybe add a pole to the gate, maybe increase security? Maybe change the cycle of the gate to close sooner? Nope they want the tenant to make sure. So the manager lady yells Oooooo like I crashed into something. I was honestly taken back because I pulled in text book style. Very unprofessional. Then I try to book a spot and they refuse me and get this I have to write the precious owner a letter by mail with “stamps” and apology to maybe be allowed back in. Some guy manager called me with an entitled attitude to explain all this trying sound all like the manager from office space. Give me a break. Taking all 5 units out immediately. I used this facility for about 2 1/2 mos to store my RV trailer. My site had a 30 amp hookup, I never worried about security and the facility had very useful amenities, like rest rooms, air, water and trash dumpster. At one point I received texts to wait until the gate closes before proceeding into or out of the facility, but without regard to the amount of time it take for the gate to cycle, I don't feel comfortable monitoring the entry. Likewise, I wouldn't respond well to someone inquiring about my intentions accessing my own property. ... Read more

Have had my motor coach here for 2 years. I love that when I come back from a trip I can plug it in and do not have to worry about unloading the refrigerator. They also have free ice and water to fill your motor coach. I also keep my 16 ft enclosed trailer here and until recently I kept my extra 32 ft boat here. Very clean nice place ... Read more

Recently used Fortress for truck and boat trailer storage while making a trip to the Bahamas out of Ft. Pierce. We were very pleased with the service, facilities, and pricing provided to us by Fortress and their team. It was conveniently located on the outskirts of town and just a short uber ride back to the boat ramp after we launched. I had a long bed crew cab with a 30' boat trailer and easily fit in two spaces provided to us by Randy with Fortress. Nice bathrooms, fresh water available to rinse off the boat after and before the long road trips to and from home. They had cameras everywhere and I saw a few employees on-site each time I was there. Still, I left a trail cam in the back glass and no one ever got near the truck or the trailer except for other patrons accessing their spaces. thanks again to everyone at Fortress who helped make our trip a success! We'll see you again next time!! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Fortress RV And Boat Storage - 4501 Orange Avenue has to offer. These amenities include 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Online Payment and RV Storage. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
