Some confusion with customer service, but Ebony the property manager was amazing! She followed up, was well informed, and had the unit ready and waiting for me to view. Would DEF recommend! Very professional (and extremely nice) property manager! ... Read more

Run don't walk from Public Storage! They'll make it sound enticing with their specials, then increase your rate monthly! Unless you know, for sure, you'll only be storing your items for one month, go some place else! It's impossible to contact customer care when you have a question and heaven forbid you reach Ebony, she is the rudest customer service representative!! Manny could not have been more helpful when I lost the keys to my units. He was very pleasant and professional and I was very grateful for his assistance. ... Read more

What a nightmare this was. The app never works to open the gate, for starters. Whatever you do, do not accept space #139 because the lock does not work with the door. There's a problem with the door, not the lock itself. We were not the only ones having this problem, but how would they know because this place has no human interaction. We spent quite a bit of time inside the kiosk sweating because the AC doesn't work as we tried to work with a virtual assistant who was completely worthless at helping us. Eventually we got switched to a different storage unit and they double charged me for it. Public Storage? Never again. There are other options here. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

To open your storage unit door, start by unlocking it, whether it uses a traditional padlock or a Bluetooth-enabled smart lock. Once unlocked, grab the bottom handle and lift or pull up the roll-up door until it’s fully open.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.

Security helps protect your belongings while they’re in storage and gives you peace of mind between visits. Many self storage facilities use a combination of features such as video surveillance, gated access, on-site management, and well-lit premises to help deter unauthorized access.

At Public Storage - 7950 SW 74th Avenue, available security amenities may include Security Camera, Gate, designed to help keep your items protected.

Yes, most standard vehicles can be stored in self storage units. A 10x20 unit typically provides enough space for a car, while outdoor or designated parking areas may be available for larger vehicles.
