Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Ridiculous, this place was a private storage company. They sold to public storage, first off public storage is terrible the first time I moved I stored my stuff there and there were Rats living inside my couch, no lie rats were nesting in my couch right after me taking it from the storage to my new place. Now I live in another state, this location sold to them, since then my rate goes up 20 bucks every three months even though the online rate is the same as when I first got the unit. Being in another state, when I called to reason with them because I am IN ANOTHER STATE, they said only new customers get that rate and everyone else pays progressively more. I pay nearly $300.00 now and they won't change it. I hope this helps people find a better place to store your stuff if you are relocating to another state. Good luck, and thanks public storage. can't wait till next month when you guys raise it again . ... Read more

Before Public Storage bought out this facility, I rented a unit from Orlando Self Storage at this location over two years ago. About 7-8 months ago Public Storage bought it out and everything went downhill. The facilities weren’t kept up as nicely and the people in the office were never there. I got notification that the price of my unit was increasing by over 33% about 3 months after the switch, which was going to bring my total to over $160 when I had the original 10x10 unit for $99 a month. I wanted to move buildings, switch to a different company, but the convenience seemed worth it to try and downsize. We straightened everything around and I reserved a 10x7 space online for $72 a month, signed a new lease agreement, and chose a move out date for our current unit. Leading up to the date of the move in for the new unit I was getting reminders from Public Storage about my 7x10 unit and being reminded of the price and what to bring on move in day. When it came time to move to the new unit I showed up at 9:30 on the dot (online it says the facilities open at 6am). The door was locked but there was someone there. Tyler came to open the door and immediately scolded me for being there before opening, saying they open at 9:30 and if the door is locked, I need to call the number on the door. I hadn’t even had a chance to, I merely pulled on the locked door, I didn’t knock, and he came and opened it. I offered to go back outside and call the number and he said no. I told him I was moving into a new unit today and he took my license and told me that I already had a unit and gave me the number of my current unit. I told him we were downsizing and I had reserved the new one, a 7x10, online for $72 a month, provided the reservation number and everything. He told me there were none available and offered me a 6x10 for $84 a month, more money for a smaller unit. I told him no because we needed even that extra 10 square feet of space and he reiterated there were none available and that the reservation means nothing even though I signed a lease agreement. I wasn’t able to pay online or else I would have, I told him that and he once again told me that the reservation means nothing. Then why did I get so many emails and text messages confirming the reservations leading up to move in day? Now I’m glad I wasn’t able to pay online because of the bait and switch tactics. I told him I would probably end up giving my business to another storage facility and he said the 6x10 there probably wouldn’t be available when I came back. I called an Extra Space Storage down the street and was offered a 7x10 unit for $62 a month with first month free and immediately moved all of my things out. Absolutely ridiculous way to run your business. Horrible customer service. ... Read more

This storage facility has caused us nothing but problems since Public Storage bought it out. Our price has been raised significantly every 4-6 months. Today, we went in to downsize our unit. We rented a 10x7 online a few weeks ago, and have been receiving calls from them about once a week to remind us of our upcoming new lease. When we went to the office this morning to get our new unit, we were immediately met with hostility. The door was locked, and when the man came to open the door, he scolded us, saying they don’t open until 9:30 (it was after 9:30). He then told us they did not have a unit for us. He was quite rude about it, telling us that even though we reserved it online and have been receiving calls about it being ready by this date, we didn’t have a unit promised to us. He then offered us a smaller unit for more money and said it was our only option. I can’t believe how horribly they treat their tenants. Clearly, they don’t care about keeping current clients. We’ve now picked a new unit down the street and are excited to leave this place behind. ... Read more

Public Storage recently took over this storage facility (on International Drive, near Daryl Carter). A couple of weeks ago, one of the two elevators was out of order. Today, when we arrived around 11:00 a.m. to retrieve an item from our unit, both elevators were out of service. To make matters worse, there was no one in the office to assist us, despite it being normal business hours on a Monday. While we could have used the stairs under other circumstances, this was not feasible given the heavy box we intended to retrieve from the third floor. Frankly, this situation is completely unacceptable. Reliable elevator access is a basic expectation for any multi-story storage facility, and customers should not be left without assistance or communication when critical infrastructure is down. ... I was really impressed with this storage facility! Mike went above and beyond to make sure I got exactly what I needed. The units are spotless, and the whole place is incredibly well-organized. The location couldn’t be better, and the prices are really reasonable for what you’re getting. I’ve used a few storage units in the past, but this one definitely stands out for its excellent service and attention to detail. I feel like my things are in great hands here! ... Read more

I gave this place 4?? cause I was there at 8:00, however they open at 9:00 am, not their fault, but I only could use the restroom after 9:20am and It was an emergency. This facility is plenty of room for 18W, so you can come with big trucks. The restroom was a little bit dirty, but well equiped. Location was clean and super lighted. Easy to get in and out with Semi. Open on saturday. It has different restaurants close, a bus stop and a walking side path. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

To open your storage unit door, start by unlocking it, whether it uses a traditional padlock or a Bluetooth-enabled smart lock. Once unlocked, grab the bottom handle and lift or pull up the roll-up door until it’s fully open.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.

Security helps protect your belongings while they’re in storage and gives you peace of mind between visits. Many self storage facilities use a combination of features such as video surveillance, gated access, on-site management, and well-lit premises to help deter unauthorized access.

At Public Storage - 12611 International Drive South, available security amenities may include Security Camera, Gate, Onsite Manager, designed to help keep your items protected.

Yes, most standard vehicles can be stored in self storage units. A 10x20 unit typically provides enough space for a car, while outdoor or designated parking areas may be available for larger vehicles.
