Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage at 3145 North Alafaya Trail, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

UPDATE: Once again, property manager, Tammy, helped me when renting my 3rd storage unit at this facility. She helped iron out the kinks with their insurance vs my own home owners insurance. All I need is to know Tammy's in-office schedule as to when she's in the office and I'm golden. She provides concierge service and I cannot thank her enough for her professionalism and kind demeanor. That said, I really like this Public Storage operation. I like that I get a text or email asking how was my visit. I like that they are paying attention and always asking if there's more they can do. So far, it's the best experience I've had with any storage facility going all the way back to the 1980s. I also need to give a shout out to the other property manager, Stephanie. She, too, gives GOOD PHONE, provides timely voicemails, etc. Both Tammy and Stephanie are excellent property managers. You just gotta align with their in-office schedule and you're golden. THANK YOU, BOTH. Every message I've left, they've returned in a very timely manner. ORIGINAL REVIEW: When I rented my first Public Storage unit in early December, I met Tammy who helped me get signed up in person as I was not yet familiar with their very user friendly app. Tammy was vey pleasant to work with, showing me several rental units before I chose mine. That good experience gave me the confidence to now rent a second unit with them. They say making a good first impression matters- seems true here too. Their app appears well designed for ease of customer use a definite plus factor. ... Read more

Stephanie was extremely helpful and professional throughout the entire process. She took the time to walk me through the storage unit, gave me a full tour, and clearly explained everything I needed to know. She answered all my questions patiently and made sure I felt comfortable and confident with my decision. Great customer service and a very smooth experience overall. Highly recommend working with her! ... Read more

I had the pleasure of being checked in by Jasmine R., and I have to say she did an outstanding job! I was surprised to learn it was only her second day on the job—you would never know it. Her professionalism, friendliness, and customer service skills were top-notch. She made the check-in process smooth and pleasant with such a positive attitude. Great job on hiring Jasmine—we definitely need more people like her on the team! ... Read more

PLEASE READ. DONT RECOMMEND. I needed a place to store my things for college for 2 months only. When I first said I was interested online, they immediately called me and got me the unit. First red flag was that they told me the prices online, which were cheaper than what I was quoted on the phone, were not the actual prices and not to go based off that. I was lied to and you actually get a deal on the unit when you buy it online. First lie. Then once they sent me all the confirmation emails, they went no contact. I spent 3 weeks trying to get in contact about my keys and how to access my unit. I visited the office 3 times and no one was ever there. I called every single day, it just rang and no one answered. I left multiple messages. I finally got a call back 3 weeks later and the lady was absolutely rude. She also had said that they don’t keep people in the on-site office even thought the hours stated are every week day. I was told on the phone that my specific unit was “air conditioned controlled and pest and rodent free.” When I went to my storage unit 2 months later, there was rat droppings all over my furniture and cockroaches crawling all over my stuff and the walls. Some of my products had exploded everywhere. I had to throw out a bunch of things due to damage. The day I moved out, I left some things outside to come and grab later. (I had access to the unit until 9pm that night) I received a call a hour after I left from “Brooke” saying if I didn’t come and grab my things within 2 hours I was threatened with camera searches and getting charged a $500 cleaning fee. (This was at 1pm and she told me to come get my stuff by 3pm even though I had all of that day to clean my unit out by 9pm) Don’t recommend, customer service is terrible. Disgusting units. Rats and roaches. I will never be back. ... Read more

Fine for a while, relatively easy move in process. All was well until I visited to pull something out to find rat droppings, fibers and roaches in the entire back end of the unit. Needless to say, I’m gone. I won’t be going back and I’ve already scheduled my move out. Some of my items are discolored and the plastic we used to cover the dresser has yellowed and full of rat poop. The pictures show only some of it covering my cat’s extra bed, my desk and in the back of the unit. ... Read more

I am highly disappointed in this situation with public storage. I am on an important work trip and received a phone call from a detective informing me that my public storage has been burglarized. Trying to call public storage to verify this information was like jumping through hoops because no one ever picks up the phone. I decided to call the 1-800 number thinking they would be in communication with them just to have to them unable to verify if this information is true, and that they can’t even get a hold of a property manager. I finally got a hold of someone from the property the next day to let me know that my storage was in fact tampered with, but they gave little to no information on what exactly happened. They also had no intention of calling me, had I not reached out to them first. I pay a hefty price for storage and I chose this location because I thought it was a safe area. However, since our move in date, I have seen the front entry gate broken, open, and unattended multiple times. Why did a detective reach out to me before public storage even informed me? Why is there no security? How is it POSSIBLE for a criminal to drive right into a GATED FACILITY and break into multiple storage units!?!?!? Since I’m on a work trip and can’t immediately check on the unit, the property manager offered no help in trying to send pictures or solutions on how to check on our things. Let me apologize for not dropping everything I having going on, quitting my job, and jumping on my imaginary private jet to come check on items that are supposed to be “locked and secured.” This is ridiculous that you pay for your things to be protected, but it seems there is no care for your personal items as long as public storage gets their payments and greed satisfied. Let me emphasize on GREED here for a minute: you have increased my rate on a regular basis, equaling out to about a 40% increase since my move in date. ARE YOU KIDDING ME….. I work very hard for my money and those things in storage might not mean anything to you but money in your pockets, but for me and my family, those things hold sentimental value. Judging from your other complaints and reviews, I can see I am far from alone; as a company, you need to step up and do better in every area. ... Read more

I completed a rental online. Was told that I would have immediate access. When we arrived there was a lock on the door. I had to call the office and got a voicemail, but the manager Tiana I believe her name was showed up pretty quickly and apologized for the inconvenience and unlocked our unit for us. Very grateful it was done in a timely manner. The units are nice and clean and well lit also. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Public Storage - 3145 North Alafaya Trail has to offer. These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Public Storage - 3145 North Alafaya Trail can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 25 to 400 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Public Storage - 3145 North Alafaya Trail come at a variety of prices, starting from $19 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $248 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
