I rented a space outside with the garage door size opening. I believe the unit was 10'x10'. Fenced in, cameras for safety, 24/7/365 access, clean, well lit at night. Office staff available and helpful. Highly Recommend ... Read more

Absolutely the best storage facility in Pinellas county. Clean, spacious, well maintained, easily accessible and perfectly staffed. Val, Marsha and Gary are polite, professional and personable. Let's face it, none of us really want to pay to store our stuff. Once we resort to that option, we want our possessions to be safe, high and dry, bug free in a facility that is well maintained with pleasant, competent staff. Cardinal Mini storage offers all of that. I greatly enjoyed my interactions with Val, Marsha and Gary. The Cardinal Mini Storage contract is clear and easy to understand. "The Rules of the Inn" are clear. This company actually honors their commitment, does not try to squeeze additional money out of you and allows you to cancel your contract as easily as it is written in the terms. Store your stuff here - you and your possessions will be well taken care of. ... Read more

They were the only place that got us in last September when we bought our new boat so we were thankful for this. It was a good experience overall, front office staff is very friendly and accommodating. Even called us when they thought there was an issue with our boat so we could come check on it. Spots can be a bit crowded and tricky to get into, especially if you have something large to back into the space but the convenience of its location makes it worth it. Recommend :) ... Read more

they don't even deserve the one star, I was a very faithful customer for years, rented 2 units, always paid well before due date. because of that my auto pay from my bank went out and paid by accident for a month ahead when I had fully moved out and cleaned the units by end of a month already paid for. left the units in as good of shape as when I first rented. They refused to refund me my money, almost $400, so bottom line is they stole my money. would not recommend them, not very honest people. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

To open your storage unit door, start by unlocking it, whether it uses a traditional padlock or a Bluetooth-enabled smart lock. Once unlocked, grab the bottom handle and lift or pull up the roll-up door until it’s fully open.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.

Security helps protect your belongings while they’re in storage and gives you peace of mind between visits. Many self storage facilities use a combination of features such as video surveillance, gated access, on-site management, and well-lit premises to help deter unauthorized access.

At Nelson Mini Storage - 3483 Alt 19, available security amenities may include Security Camera, Gate, designed to help keep your items protected.

Yes, most standard vehicles can be stored in self storage units. A 10x20 unit typically provides enough space for a car, while outdoor or designated parking areas may be available for larger vehicles.

For safety reasons, most self storage facilities restrict certain items. These commonly include:

  • Hazardous, flammable, or toxic materials
  • Perishable food
  • Live plants or animals
  • Cash, firearms, or irreplaceable valuables

Always check with the facility at 3483 Alt 19 for specific restrictions and recommendations.
