Read some helpful reviews of Cooksey-s RV Park, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

The only positive thing I can say is that the lady at the front desk was very friendly and nice. I initially thought this would be a good storage option because of the affordable monthly rate ($99), but it turned out to be a big mistake. The gate was often left open and unlocked, which made me question the security. The storage spots were just uneven grass, not gravel or paved, and were full of fire ant mounds. Every time it rained, our spot turned into a complete swamp — ankle-deep mud just to get to the camper. On the day we pulled out, I was mauled by fire ants and covered in mud, and it has taken days to get all the ants out of my camper. I would not recommend anyone store their RV here, no matter how cheap the price looks up front. ... Read more

This RV park was extremely convenient for us! The Office Manager, Buddy, was extremely helpful and readily available. The laundry facilities were clean and the washers and dryers worked better than most I've used in RV Parks. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is because the roads need some work. Massive holes, lots of mud, sandy/Muddy parking spots. At the gerund least the owners should put down some gravel. No landscaping to speak of. ... Read more

Really had a wonderful time here ! Only there for 3 nights...Everyone was so friendly!!..I absolutely loved Buddy ?? ?? She is a great employee and a total hoot to hang out with! The only downside to this campground was I wish the owners would spend a bit of money to grade out the dirt roads ! Maybe add a bit of perennials..but overall..I would go back ...for the people that stay there and definitely to say hi to Buddy ! ... Read more

Location location location ?? that is what this RV park has going for it. Minutes from st Augustine attractions, minutes from shopping , minutes from highway. This is the second time we have stayed here. Buddy, the manager ,is a rock star. Kind helpful. The new owners have slightly improved the roads. It is safe, quiet, a little run down, no frills RV site. We will stay here again if we are in this area. Location location location. ... Read more

Mar 2022 There's nothing 'smiling' about this park. Giving it a 1 star review is generous! It rained for 2 straight days two times when we stayed at the park and generally gave a new meaning to "waterfront property" in 90% of the lots! I wish I had read the February 2022 review first (bad) before booking a lot for March 2022. It is spot on! One RV'er who has been coming here for some time said the previous owner at least tried to better the park. The new owner hasn't done any improvement since Jun 2021. I wouldn't be surprised if the new owner was just in it for the revenue. I heard he's a hot head and would say "if you don't like it... leave". Even a barber in St. Augustine knew of the conditions here. What does that tell you? If you're thinking about coming to Smiling Gator RV don't say you weren't warned! Happy trails... from frustrated and disappointed camper. ... Read more
