I had a fantastic experience at Public Storage thanks to Sabrina! As a new customer, she took the time to understand my needs, made sure I got the right size unit in the right location, and made the whole process smooth and stress free. She is professional, kind, and truly went above and beyond. I highly recommend this location and especially Sabrina for her excellent service! ... Read more

Do NOT move here!!!! This place is disgusting!!!! Every year there is a rent increase and all they tell you is put a cover!!! I found chewed up rodent poop and a lot was chewed through my stuff and I paid $310 a month!!! Im leaving this dump !!! It’s horrible!!!!!! Things from the ceiling would fall down my stuff! Please don’t move here! I’m happy I am finally leaving!!! I am incredibly upset and I work really hard to pay this each month so it’s not fair they take advantage of tenants..this place shouldn’t even be in business. ?? ... Read more

The day I checked out the unit it had rodent feces “BIG”. So I told Sabrina? about it and they came and just swept it out. Then 13 months later when returning from my deployment I was very disappointed to find everything with the same kind of feces on it. I lost all of my clothes and half of my other belongings. Chalk this place off your list, you’ll thank me later. ... Read more

1. When signing up, I received a discount at a price that was favorable over other storage companies. I was told when signing up that the price was firm but "could be changed at any time". When I deployed to Qatar, it took only one month for Public Storage to raise my monthly price to $144 (a 50% increase). 2. During hurricanes Milton and Helene, I was promised that the unit received no damage. After returning from deployment roughly 1 month after Milton's landfall, I found that my storage unit had a waterline that reached 2 feet. Further, I found that the metal siding covering my storage unit was ripped off. When I raised this concern, it was not entirely fixed, and is still partially open today (4 months later). When submitting my insurance claim, they were unhelpful and unresponsive. 3. Communication with public storage is awful. When you try to visit the office during working hours nobody is there. When trying to call, they lead you to the corporate number. There is an option to speak to a property manager, which in my case, never answers. Within the last two weeks, the app has stopped working entirely. This leads to congestion at the gate and a significant amount of wasted time to try and figure out how to get in. My extra key has been with the property manager for 4 months due to the repairs mentioned earlier. I have contacted them 3 times to get this key back. 4. My unit was infested by some sort of rodent. There was feces among my belongings. To support this, the unit that I own has random plywood boards to cover the spaces between the contacting units. I am extremely unimpressed with the lack of professionalism exuded by Public Storage. I will never choose to store my belongings with this company again. The service that I have received from Public Storage in person, over the phone, and online is unforgivable. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Public Storage - 5014 South Dale Mabry Hwy has to offer. These amenities include Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
