Worse experience ever ,fist off withing 2nd month the raise the price ,that's how they get you ! By that time there is nothing you can do unless you want to reload and load again ,they also close at 6 pm so God forbid you are moving or need extra time .when moving we was going to have pods delivered that was a deal to claiming there would be no room and saying we would need to put them by the office ,we was the last building and the office was the first ! Also be careful to plan when you're moving because if you move at the beginning or the middle of the month they're not going to prorate or give you any of your money back they basically just tell you that's too bad for anytime you didn't use! 10 out of 10 do not recommend.. ... Congratulations Public Storage, I have never felt the need to post a negative complaint until now. I moved out of my space on the 5th of this month expecting a prorated amount but Public storage believes it is ethical to charge me for 25 days that I will not be using the space while renting it to another customer. This does not sit well with me, Extra Space Storage prorates because they are an ethical company. I’ll use them from now on even if I need to drive a few extra miles. No help from manager and no help from Corporate. I can deal with not having a cart available 75% of my visits and I can deal with the funky smell each time you walk inside or the gate that was broken for 2 months but I took this personally and I’ll be shocked if Public Storage does anything to win my business back in the future. Maybe I’ll get a sorry but not sorry email. ... Read more

Day 15 since our unit flooded and we have yet to be contacted by the insurance company. Nobody will return phone calls or give us any answers. We lost everything and they could care less. We paid insurance every single month and now that it’s time to use it they are silent. I will not be silent about this. I am very upset and will be going higher and higher until I get the results we deserve!!! ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
