It’s just a storage unit. I don’t understand the need to increase rent every few months. My rent went from $50 to $60 then to $80 and I was done. There is absolutely no reason to increase rent on a storage unit. There’s never anyone on site at this location either. Then when you leave your opinion on the survey sent out, they seem to get offended and send you a lengthy VM about why they increase their rent and how every storage facility does it. They also mentioned how I could have contacted them to have my rent lowered…I did, and they lowered it by $5! Some of us would rather not speak to a kiosk. You can see the transcript of the VM they left. Just a little unprofessional. ... Read more

We have been a Public Storage customer for close to 7 years now. The facility has always been clean and our items have been well stored. No complaints with these services or the people that work for Public Storage. Our bill began at approximately $85/month and climbed to $375/month over this time. This amount became too expensive and we reviewed the app to see if there was a similar size for a lower amount. We found a same-sized unit on the same floor at our original price. I called the office to see if they could meet that price and the best they could do was knock $100/month off. We ended up moving our items from our original unit to the $85/month unit in 2 hours and have save ourselves close to $300/month. I am glad this worked out but I am frustrated that this couldn’t be handled in a more customer-friendly manner whereby the lower price was applied to the original unit. ... Read more

This place is great. We had a hiccup with our online reservation which was annoying because we had to get the bin because of a family emergency, we were stressed because i had to move mom in law into her house because of a fall, and Angela helped us even though it was one minute until they closed. She fixed everything and we got our move done quickly. Thank you Angela for all your help. ... Read more

I have been with this particular location off and on for several years, but a few days ago I was there and my app would not work to open the doors for me. A staff member named Missy took the time to walk me through some troubleshooting steps and helped me get it working again. Then she helped me locate a cart and walked with me to get it around the whole building, so I wouldn’t get lost. She did all of this even though she was on her way out of the door to go home. This is pure excellence, and I sincerely appreciate her customer service on a day that was severely difficult for me. You never know what people are going through and her kindness meant the world to me! ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

To open your storage unit door, start by unlocking it, whether it uses a traditional padlock or a Bluetooth-enabled smart lock. Once unlocked, grab the bottom handle and lift or pull up the roll-up door until it’s fully open.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.

Security helps protect your belongings while they’re in storage and gives you peace of mind between visits. Many self storage facilities use a combination of features such as video surveillance, gated access, on-site management, and well-lit premises to help deter unauthorized access.

At Public Storage - 530 South Main Street, available security amenities may include Security Camera, Gate, Onsite Manager, designed to help keep your items protected.

Yes, most standard vehicles can be stored in self storage units. A 10x20 unit typically provides enough space for a car, while outdoor or designated parking areas may be available for larger vehicles.

    • Hazardous, flammable, or toxic materials
    • Perishable food
