Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage at 2080 Briarcliff Road NE, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at this Public Storage location, which is unfortunate because that was not always the case. During move in over a year ago, the employee I worked with was fantastic. He was helpful, professional, and made the process smooth, which is why I felt comfortable using this location long term. Unfortunately, my experience closing out my unit was the complete opposite. Due to a winter storm, I was unable to retrieve my belongings before the end of January. I live over an hour away, road conditions were unsafe, and as a full time student who also works full time, my availability is limited. I called and explained my situation to the manager and was told that while Public Storage does not prorate, if I paid my balance and removed my items by Tuesday (today), she would do her best to work with me to get a refund for February. I paid the balance as instructed and removed my belongings on Sunday. I went into the office that same day to notify staff and was told they would check the unit and send me my final information. I heard nothing. I called the next day to follow up and was told the unit had not yet been reviewed and that I would receive a call back. No call ever came. Instead, I received a final email. When I called today and spoke directly with the manager, I was told there was nothing they could do and that I would not be refunded for the full month of February, despite being told earlier that they would work with me. As a full time student, Sundays are typically reserved for homework and preparing for the week, but I rearranged my schedule, rented a truck, and spent over five hours (again I live over an hour away) moving my belongings out of the unit to meet the deadline I was given. The lack of follow through, poor communication, and sudden shift once payment was made was extremely frustrating. I was proactive, transparent, and complied with everything I was told to do, yet was still penalized. Based on my recent experience, I would not recommend this location to anyone who expects clear communication or reasonable customer service during unforeseen situations. ... Read more

NO WORKING ELEVATORS. Just finished moving, which was difficult since the elevators near my unit (2 of 3) have been out of order all week. Went to drop off the last truckload today only to find that the 3rd elevator is non-functional. There aren’t even stairwell access. So not only do I have nowhere to store this car filled with my things (not even the unit I paid for), & but also no way to get to the things in my unit. So the 1 star is deserved. ... Read more

I have been with this location for almost 10 years. There is no consideration for loyalty. They are currently charging me four times the amount for the same size unit they have listed on the website. They get away with it because it can be very difficult to move your unit. And if you do move it to a cheaper one, they will very quickly raise your rate. So you will be higher than normal. Again. I highly recommend never go with public storage. And I intend on leaving them as soon as possible. I have tried contacting them in regards to this. No one seems to haf ty authority, ability, or desire to help help. Everyone directs you to someone else (i.e. Corporate to property manager and vise versa). If public storage wants to contact me and work out an arrangement to lower the rate to normal. I will update my review. ... Read more

24 hour access would make it 5 stars. I appreciate the ease of mobile gate access features from my phone without using codes, and the fact that I was able to reserve my unit, then show up and open the door to find my lock and insurance pamphlet inside for me. I never had to "check out" or do anything in person and it was completely automated. Every step of the process was executed from my phone. Very efficient. First month rent for a 10x20 was free and after fees and such the total to move in was about $51.~ and some change. ... Read more

03/05/2025 I originally gave this place 5 stars because it was easy and convenient, but that has completely changed. The price randomly jumped from $84 to $111. I use my storage every day, and the experience has been wild. The Public Storage app is supposed to open the gates, elevators, and doors, but it only works for the gates. The bathroom has never been unlocked. The elevators sometimes make odd noises, and last month, I actually got stuck in one. I went to level 2 but the elevator went back down and felt like it was crashing and rumbled. There were no signs or communication about the storage elevators being down. There also wasn’t anybody on site. Luckily, my husband was outside to help. Security is also a major issue. People come in before 9 P.M. with coats and backpacks to sleep inside the facility. A woman sleeps in her car outside in the parking lot. She spoke to us on the previous day and the conversation was weird. Today, my husband and son went to the storage to pick up something for me and a man clearly on meth with bloody scabs all over his face was on the same floor —not exactly the kind of environment you expect when storing your belongings. Horrible, I can’t recommend it to anyone. Previous review I recently caught an October deal at Public Storage, and my initial fee was a steal! This was my first time ever using a storage unit, and I’m happy with the experience so far. I got a 10x10 for $84, which feels like a great deal. Literally did everything online and didn’t have to speak to anyone at all, the lock was in my storage and ready for me to use when I arrived. The location is very clean, and I love how convenient it is to access everything using the app on my phone – I can open the gate and enter the building with ease. ... Read more

I’m not sure what would compel the front office to lie to me on various occasions ON TOP of charging me for an empty, vacated unit, but here we are. I moved my items out in January before the first and moved to an entirely different state, I was told by the front desk that I would be charged $75 fee for removal and that would be the closing of my account. So why have I been charged not just once for January, but TWICE for February when I closed my account? Why was I told by somebody at the front desk there was a $75 removal fee only for someone else that works the front desk to turn around and tell me that wasn’t the truth, but when he found out who told me that and what they could do about my account, they would call me, only to never be called!!!!! I then called up to the office FOURTEEN TIMES to no response whatsoever!!!! Someone needs to fix it and refund me TODAY. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Public Storage - 2080 Briarcliff Road NE has to offer. These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
