So far this has been a nightmare and I have only been their customer for a day. I filled my car up and headed over to put stuff in my new unit. Neither of the gate codes they gave me will let me in. I spend 45 minutes waiting for a call back and finally get a gate code that works. Now I am sitting here outside of the 10x20 unit I paid for and it’s only 10x9. Guess I’ll spend another 45 minutes sitting on hold. Update #1. I have tried numerous times to resolve the issue of unit size. I am still being charged for a 10x20 unit when mine is only 10x9. Every time I call I am told that the representatives need permission from the owner to change the rate and that he hasn’t responded yet. It’s been a month and I’m still being told the owner hasn’t responded yet. Update #2. I showed up with two cars fully packed and ready to unload. I was unable to access my unit. Again. Because the keypad and the access codes were changed. Again. It took me several days to get ahold of someone so I could get a new access code. Save yourselves the headache and find a more reliable business. ... Read more

New owners came in and shut down the phone number that we used to access the gate. I never had a code, calling from my phone was the only access we've ever had (or needed). We could not get in to winterize our camper before the first freeze. We called every number we could find and no numbers worked. We tried email and 3 weeks later we have still not gotten an email back. We were literally moments away from reporting our camper stolen with the police department since we could not access it to do necessary preventative maintenance when we discovered that my small child could slip through the opening in the gate and entered the exit code to let us in through the exit. We are actively looking for a new storage company because I do not trust these people with my camper. I am in shock that it has been 3 weeks and they have still not reached out to us. Absolutely unacceptable. And these responses on the reviews here just make me even angrier because if you have the time to respond to google reviews then you have time to reach out to your new customers and resolve the gate issue. ... I went there to pay my bill on Saturday and the drop box is gone. I call the number on the sign and it doesn't work correctly. I'm still trying to figure out how to pay my bill and get in the gate to my unit. ... Read more

My husband just went by there today and we had no clue there was a new company that bought it. And no way of getting into the gate. Is anyone able to give me a number to get into the gate? This is ridiculous ... Read more

Would have been nice to have any notice that a change in companies was made. New company changed how to get into storage units and my husband and I just moved and for three days were unable to put our things in storage or access our things already in storage. Literally no working number to communicate with anyone. Had all of our belongings to store in the back of a truck with no where else to put them and couldn’t access for days. Couldn’t get items that we needed for the move already in storage. Would not recommend Pilot Self Storage. The lady that owned it previously was wonderful though. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
