After attempting to leave messages to notify that we've vacated our storage unit in mid June and still continue to be charged, her answering machine is now full and cannot take any more messages. Has anyone considered reporting this business to the local news station to have them investigate their fraudulent practices? Unfortunately you have to give one star for your message to post but I would not give them that. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR BUSINESS! ... Read more

Class action law suit! Everyone she's burned! Lets get her!!! I have a tin of evidence stacked against her! Let us unite! This lady is as crooked as they come! I have been billed when I should not have been, she won't give me a copy of my rental agreement, it is not accessible on her site anymore, I was not reimbursed for being over charged, I'll never see my deposits again even tho my sheds are cleaned, Ive been robbed 3 times and lost the most irreplaceable items. Seriously If anyone needs me on this matter Im more then willing to participate. ... Read more

DO NOT RENT FROM ISLAND STORAGE I had an incredibly frustrating experience with Island Storage, and I feel compelled to warn others. I came to my unit on December 7, 2024, to find that it had been broken into. We immediately contacted the sheriff’s department, and the responding officer informed us that they had been called out in early November 2024 for break-ins at the facility and had even photographed my unit at that time. Despite this, I was never notified that my unit had been compromised for over a month. Before I learned this, I called Island Storage on December 7th to report the break-in and asked about terminating my rental agreement. I was told to inform them once the unit was empty. We cleared out the remaining items that evening and I called back on December 9th to let them know the unit was empty. They never returned my call. Then, I received a bill for January. I called again and left a voicemail explaining that I would not be paying it, and requested a callback. No response. To my surprise, I was billed again for February. I called once more, and this time I managed to speak to management. She claimed she thought I still had items in the unit—completely false—and told me she was at Walmart and would have to “look into it.” I’m doubtful I’ll hear back from her, given my past experience with getting no response. To make matters worse, the rental agreement on file with Island Storage doesn’t even contain my signature. According to the contract, termination should be communicated 15 days before the end of the rental month, which I did. I also know other family members who have attempted to terminate their agreements by sending authorized letters, but Island Storage continuously dodges communication, failing to pick up their mail or return calls. Island Storage has demonstrated poor customer service, a lack of transparency, and an overall disregard for their tenants’ concerns. I am currently seeking legal assistance to resolve this issue. Please save yourself the hassle and do not rent here. ... Read more

ABSOLUTELY. THE WORST STORAGE COMPANY !!! DO NOT GET CAUGHT IN THIS COMPANIES FINANCIAL SCAM read all of these reviews. EVERY NEGATIVE STATEMENT IS TRUE Any review that has any type of positivity is because they haven’t dealt with them BY ATTEMPTING TO TERMINATE THE RENTAL These people absolutely refuse to respond in any aspect and after two months of trying to get them finally the woman answers the phone and hangs up, we moved out in July. She has ignored every single communication even from the Better Business Bureau. It’s a scam to steal money to refuse to give deposits this place is begging for a lawsuit, and everyone that has been scammed by their manipulation of ignoring your attempt to communicate so that you can cancel, the shed needs to get together and file against this company Even when you tell them giving them notice, they continue to bill you they think they can continue billing tenants after they vacate the shed even after notice is given I did not give a star unless it forces me to at the end of these comments because it doesn’t even deserve one star I would give 100 minus stars On the upside, there are many many companies that rent storage facilities in and around Muscatine, Iowa that are absolutely wonderful very well secured very well maintained and the availability to reach someone with rental vacating. The rental concerns has never been an issue with the other ones do your research.!!!!!?????????? ?????? ... Read more

Pretty fair and good natured management that runs the place I think. Never had any real issues with them. Always very friendly and professional. Down side of having our storage unit with them was that they don't really implement any type of close monitored security. It's not fenced in and gated with a code to enter. Also, the property usually looks like it needs maintaining. Weeds growing everywhere, piles of trash scattered throughout units.. Does not have a clean professional business appearance. ... Read more

If you use their storage get a separate card to only use only to pay them, so you can cancel it later. We began using Island Storage at their Muscatine location in January 2022. Shortly after our storage unit was broken into and several items were stolen. We filed a police report and even the police couldn't get a hold of the owners. I'm assuming their cameras don't actually work. If they did my unit had cameras on both ends and they would have been able to catch whoever broke in but nothing ever came of it. On March 1st, 2024, we gave our 30 day notice and we're moved out before April 1st. On April 1 we received an email saying 'Your automated payment has failed' as they attempted to charge a card we no longer use. We were surprisingly able to get a hold of them and they said they would fix it. Unable to get ahold of them since. They are still trying to charge the card, sometimes trying to run it multiple times on the same day. (See screenshots) And we also never received our deposit back. ... Read more

Absolute ZERO. Do not use the Bettendorf establishment either. My son’s Dad and cousin passed in a house fire that this “company” owned. They took everything they could out of a 4 car garage, besides what they thought my kid would remember. Tons of tools. Electronics. Deere riding mower. Cars were broken into , stolen, and left in the side of the road. I was the one that took the left over house paint to the dump, but I couldn’t see why there weren’t the stools we brought up from fl. Where is this and that? List goes on. Biggest thing was there was a safe. Kid’s Dad and I both knew where it was at. Military paperwork. Titles. AND CASH (thousands). Somehow his keys, wallet, and safe weren’t there. THEY ARE THIEFS. If I had the money to sue, they’d be in the hot seat. Disgusting. ... Read more

Have been trying to get a unit removed from my acct that I haven't used for over a month but they continue to charge me AND add late fees. The woman kept saying they were having problems with their payment system but it has been over a month. I have left multiple messages for her to charge my CC on file for the one unit that I am still renting but that hasn't happened and now they have added late charges to this unit, as well. I can't make a payment online because their system won't just let me pay for the one unit I am renting. Plus, they still have my deposit for the previous unit. Something needs to be done as this is no way to run business. ... Read more
