Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage at 2851 South Federal Way, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Clean facility but the climate controlled units are unacceptable. Tried to move my wine and other items into a unit only to find a ambient temperature over 80° which would ruin my items. Had to hastily find another location for the goods while storing my furniture at this Public Storage unit due to time constraints. The only reason I rented the unit was on the premises of temperature control!! I’ll be moving out as soon as possible. ... Read more

Angry, angry, angry. I did the lease over the phone. The lady told me it was going to Remy we're almost there why a 10x5. I got there and it was 3 ft wide. 6 ft length and then 10 ft high. I couldn't believe it. It's smaller than my closet. It was a joke. I paid $136 and then $88 a month. Never again a big big fat joke. I thought it was. It blew me away seeing how small the unit was. It was literally smaller than my non-walking closet coat closet my coat closet is bigger ... Read more

I have used storage units consistently over the last year - traveling between WA and ID. When I moved into my unit at Public Storage it was by far the best experience! I will never use another company. I reserved my unit online which was incredibly easy. I received my unit number and gate code immediately. Once in the facility it was incredibly clean from street to unit. The access is bright and open and my unit was spotless. Not to mention, there was a lock included in the unit waiting for me. I downloaded the app and now I can open/close the access gate with my phone instead of getting out and punching it in the terminal, which is a huge bonus. I went in to pay a compliment not knowing it was just passed closing and Todd unlocked the door to make sure I was ok. Todd is amazing and cares about the property and the customers. I am so happy I found Public Storage and will always use them wherever I go! ... Read more

I have nothing but good things to say! The registration process was easily done online, and all was in place when I needed it to be. I did have a bit of trouble figuring out the lock process, but the gentleman who is the Go-To guy at this Public Storage facility was very helpful, and is always around if I have questions. ... Easy to book online. Kiosk with a very helpful live person available in an office up front. App works well. Nice clean facility inside and out. Locks provided with each unit. The only negative is they cost more than their competitors. But the last minute change I had to make was worth it. Will use them again ... Read more

I had a reservation for a unit everything locked in called 5 minutes later to pay for unit. To be told they had sold it to someone else and there is no more units of that size and all they could do for me was upsize me and what a great thing it was for me that they could sell me a size I didn't nee that was only going to cost me over a grand more a year. Lucky me. Great way to introduce yourself to the community as a brand new business. ... Read more

Its a well run facility. My family has had units here for 5+ years. The only thing I would caution a new renter is how fast they increase rents. I have had multiple units more than double in price in a two year period. The management is accommodating and responsive but the corporation seems to keep major upward pressure on rents. I have even paid for a unit a year in advance, just to be greeted by a 30+% increase the next year. They say its the competitive rate, but you can look at other facilities near by, even Public Storage sites, and find same size units for less, sometimes much less. I like the facility and the management, however it will cost you ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Public Storage - 2851 South Federal Way has to offer. These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Kiosk Available, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, First Floor Access and Online Payment. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Public Storage - 2851 South Federal Way can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 50 to 200 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Public Storage - 2851 South Federal Way come at a variety of prices, starting from $76 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $185 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
