Great customer service was a big help. I couldn’t find my unit and they helped me find it while on the phone and called about billing issues and Janine helped me. Super smooth experience. Highly recommend. ... Read more

This is my first time renting a storage unit, so I had a lot of questions about almost everything. Luckily, so far, my experience has been great! When I called, Matthew was honest while answering any of the questions I had, and this place was easy to locate. ... Read more

I rented a unit from here online of course so first red flag. I get to the storage location to find the first unit they assigned to me was already occupied so then I had to call and speak to somebody about getting another unit which is absolutely atrocious there was a few dead mouse carcasses all different types of insects and roaches lying around the hall. So of course as anybody would do called back just to get a refund. Of course the lady tried to negotiate every different way before wanting to give me a refund. I then foolishly agreed to looking at another unit and if it was okay then might reconsider so I went and looked at it it was in much better condition and a much cleaner area but then confused why is such a drastic difference it looked newer. Also upon arrival I could tell that the building is not secured. The door lock had been busted or popped open. While meandering my way through the halls I could tell people had stayed there or do stay there. Had a foul smell of excrement and urine. Some spots in the roof were leaking. I wouldn't really recommend ... Read more

This place is a nightmare. It is filthy and infested with mice ruining everything you have in the unit urinating and pooping on everything! Then there are the roaches crawling all over the unit. I lost a lot after storing with lighthouse storage. I did report the issues with the rodents and bugs taking over the unit and all I get was “we are sorry to hear about your bad experience” and the best part is this reply to the email I sent! While our rental agreement specifies that tenants are responsible for the condition of their stored belongings, we sincerely regret that your experience did not meet expectations. Seriously!!! I was in the unit 1 year and 2 months and only the last 2 months the mice took over with their little roach friends. My belongings were perfect when I put them in the unit! Stay far away from this place! Even the cameras are a false sense of security I passed by several times and the door was propped open for anyone and anything to enter and I stopped and shut the door so my BELONGINGS did not get taken by someone breaking in. DO NOT RENT HERE! No pest control, no real security and the disgusting nature of the environment look elsewhere! ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

To open your storage unit door, start by unlocking it, whether it uses a traditional padlock or a Bluetooth-enabled smart lock. Once unlocked, grab the bottom handle and lift or pull up the roll-up door until it’s fully open.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.

Security helps protect your belongings while they’re in storage and gives you peace of mind between visits. Many self storage facilities use a combination of features such as video surveillance, gated access, on-site management, and well-lit premises to help deter unauthorized access.

At Lighthouse Storage - 1122 Locust Street, available security amenities may include Security Camera, Gate, Onsite Manager, designed to help keep your items protected.

Yes, most standard vehicles can be stored in self storage units. A 10x20 unit typically provides enough space for a car, while outdoor or designated parking areas may be available for larger vehicles.

For safety reasons, most self storage facilities restrict certain items. These commonly include:

    • Hazardous, flammable, or toxic materials
    • Perishable food
    • Live plants or animals
    • Cash, firearms, or irreplaceable valuables

Always check with the facility at 1122 Locust Street for specific restrictions and recommendations.
