Updated, clean, and I can’t speak for them all but Kelly Williams is the woman that helped me find my unit was an absolute life saver, she was so sweet, incredibly kind and you could really tell she genuinely cared! (I did ask her her name so I could make this review because I really want her to have recognition for being such a kind hard working human) ... Read more

My storage move went efficiently and smoothly. The front desk representative, Kelly, was very professional, caring, and kind. She walked me through my lock and key needs, and while prepping my moving truck for unloading, I saw her cleaning the storage facilities. Highly recommend Public Storage! ... Read more

I firmly believe people should let others know when they have received outstanding service rather than only reaching out to complain. I am out of state and I initially spoke to Kelly on the phone prior to arriving in Kansas the day of my move. I could tell immediately she was a very happy and positive person. Because of this, I made sure to write down her name so I could make sure in the future, if I needed to call the property I could ask for her and know I would get any help I might need AND speak to someone positive at the same time. After meeting her in person, I have to say I was even more impressed. Kelly absolutely went above and beyond her job requirements. I made an error when renting an additional unit on line. My error caused her days of frustration but she never once behaved in a negative way. She never said anything negative. She never took it out on me. Every time we spoke she was just as pleasant as any other time. It had to have been a nightmare for her but she treated me with the utmost kindness throughout the entire thing. To further her willingness to do her job with integrity….once we had the right size unit necessary to store my pickup, Kelly met me at the property. She didn’t just do the paperwork and give me the code and send me on my way. She went outside to the unit and stood there in the freezing cold rain and helped guide me into the unit by being a second set of eyes for me on the passenger side. When I say it’s a tight fit, that’s a monumental understatement! I didn’t ask her to help me. She just did! Having her help me with getting the truck inside without damage was huge to me! I don’t thinks she will ever know how much I appreciated that. Kelly is the type of person I feel should be recognized for the asset she is. She will serve the company well simply because she is a happy spirit and that radiates off of her and onto your customers! She absolutely isn’t a “not my job” kind of person! ... Read more

I didn’t have a good experience in the beginning of obtaining a storage unit. Unit had previous occupants stuff remaining. A new customer, staff member Aspen and I moved the remaining items out. Nancy, staff member ensure I was able to get move in special hence two weeks was ongoing. Nancy did followed up with me until I was able to rent unit. She even called after to apologize again for delays. Awesome crew and their dedication to my needs rest assured me as I was nervous about everything. I would recommend this storage and help from these two ladies. If not for them I would have rent from a different company. Much love and respect for those two ladies. ... Read more

Online reserved a specific unit 3 weeks in advance. Confirmed reservation 3 times leading up to appointment. Arrived to locked doors lights off at my appointment. Said sorry she was 20 min late. Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

To open your storage unit door, start by unlocking it, whether it uses a traditional padlock or a Bluetooth-enabled smart lock. Once unlocked, grab the bottom handle and lift or pull up the roll-up door until it’s fully open.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.

Security helps protect your belongings while they’re in storage and gives you peace of mind between visits. Many self storage facilities use a combination of features such as video surveillance, gated access, on-site management, and well-lit premises to help deter unauthorized access.

At Public Storage - 1201 North 130 Street, available security amenities may include Security Camera, Gate, designed to help keep your items protected.

Yes, most standard vehicles can be stored in self storage units. A 10x20 unit typically provides enough space for a car, while outdoor or designated parking areas may be available for larger vehicles.
