I would give zero stars if I could. This location is a nightmare regarding both their predatory billing practices and the unprofessional, invasive conduct of the on-site staff. Regarding billing, they lure you in with a decent initial rate, but the price increased by $50 every six months. When I was late on payments, they were incessantly pushy about forcing me onto auto-pay—it felt like a tactic to lock me into these frequent, automatic price hikes. Furthermore, their move-out policy is a trap: they refuse to prorate rent. Even if you move out on the 2nd of the month, you are forced to pay for the entire month. The most egregious issue was the employee living on-site. We were finishing a move and were on the property just minutes past the 9:00 PM gate access time. As my husband was punching in the code to leave, the on-site worker came out of her apartment and told us, 'That won't work, you need to be out of here by 9.' We hadn't realized that the gate system automatically locks residents in at that time, and rather than helping, she made sure we were stuck. We called Public Storage customer service for help, and they tried to reach this employee twice, but she refused to answer or assist. We were forced to involve the police just to be allowed to exit the property. The moment the police arrived, she came out of her apartment, acted 'nice' to them, and not two minutes later she punched the code in and we were finally free. Not only did she waste our time and keep our children stuck in the car until 10:30 PM, but she also wasted valuable time for local law enforcement. After that, it felt like she made it her mission to micromanage us at different times we returned. She constantly hovered, dictating what we did with our dog and demanding we turn off our music. It wasn't professional oversight; it was invasive, constant, and incredibly irritating. I strongly advise taking your business elsewhere; between the 'bait-and-switch' pricing and the hostility from the staff, this is a headache you don't need. ... Read more

We stopped by and both employees seemed completely indifferent on whether we leased a unit or not. I would highly recommend Jean Marie at StorageMart right down the street. Jean Marie was able to honor online pricing and was about 1/2 the rate. ... Read more

Rick at the front counter was awesome. I arrived slightly after 5:00 and he was more than happy to help me, very kind and funny. He helped me switch my unit and I got what I needed, while in a serious time crunch. Thank you, Rick! Give this man a raise. ... Read more

I’ve had really great experiences with the staff at Public Storage, Rick and his team are kind and considerate and great at explaining any questions or concerns I have. The only reason I knock it down a star is due to the overall corporate strategy of increasing rates every 6-12 months. I figure this probably happens at most storage sites. Even so, Rick was very helpful in keeping our business and gave options to postpone our increased rates, which gave us time to save and think before the increase occurred. ... Read more

The absolute worst. Poor customer service, continually raising rates, if you try to leave at 9:01pm you’ll be LOCKED IN and there’s no signs or warnings. No after hours line to speak to a human- just some automated crap. Use Stortropolis down the street they are a million times better and don’t lock you in. ... Read more

Average experience. Convenient location to where we live. I moved to this unit from another facility because I was paying $174 per month for a 10x20 unit in Gardner. I moved into a 10x10’ here at public storage to save a bit of money and I didn’t need as big of a unit. My rate started at $144 per month in July of 2024. They increased my rent to $179 per month after only 4 months of being here. Then I just received a notification that the rent will increase once again starting August 1st of 2025 and it will now be $212 per month. I understand that they have the right to increase the price of rent based on demand and the market. But I would have never expected that rent would have increased from $144 to $212 in about 12 months. Was really disappointed to have a $35/month increase after only the first 4 months. Again, very clean and new storage facilities. Getting access to the unit is never an issue. Just really disappointed in the price increased not being very reasonable in such a short period of time. I will be moving out before August 1, 2025. ... Read more

Rick the property manager was very kind and patient and helped me with a few things I needed taken care of and he helped to explain processes to me. He even managed a customer who came in (on a busy Saturday - warmer day after the freezing cold) to complain, with a calm cool approach and was very kind to her as well as she needed to be heard. The property is also very well taken care of every single time I come. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.
