Incident: I’ve held a contract with Lexington Mini Storage (LMS) since 22 April 2019. Customer service was great and Bill, the manager, was very professional upon signing the month-to-month contract. I was keeping most of my belongings in their 10’x15’ unit on the third floor, only two units away from the elevator. I come and go about every 3 weeks to take or drop stuff off. On 4 June 2019 I picked up my classical guitar to keep at my parents’ house. I had not returned until 7:15 am on 11 July 2019 to pick up a couch. Upon opening my locked unit. I noticed all my stuff was in disarray and pillaged. Upon further inspection, I noticed someone had plundered through my unit having stolen guitars, amplifier, electronics, calculators and a host of other things. I immediately closed and locked my unit and walked to the office on site. I found Bill’s phone number posted on the door. I called him to explain my findings, but he was adamant that no one had stolen my stuff repeating “no one has robbed this place in 11 years.” I insisted my stuff was stolen but he was very much taken aghast, refusing to believe. I then called the Lexington Police Department (Lexington, KY), and told them I needed to file a police report. Shane, one of Bill’s employees showed up around 8:15 am. I explained to him what happened and proceeded to show him what remained in my storage unit. A police officer showed up around 8:45 am and a detective soon thereafter. Upon further inspection, the detective discovered that a storage unit, diagonal to mine, was unlocked and proceeded to open it. The detective noticed a dining room chair snuggled in the corner of the unit closest to mine. Next to the chair was a black backpack, both of which not mine, with my two whittling knives inside. An empty box that formally housed some of my electronics was also there. I learned that LMS only keeps 2 weeks of video footage on file. So, for the first two weeks after 4 June 2019, there is no record. Additionally, LMS claims no responsibility for my stolen items and has made no effort to lock the remaining empty units to deter any future thefts. Most importantly, they have refused to inform the remaining tenants of the theft that occurred. ... Read more

These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Lexington Mini Storage - 2081 Bryant Road can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 25 to 300 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Lexington Mini Storage - 2081 Bryant Road come at a variety of prices, starting from $76 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $352 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
