it was nice while i had my unit, but do not go through these people. i haven’t had a storage unit in months and they’re charging and taking $200 out of a bank account that belongs to my mother, while we never once even had it set for auto pay ! ... Read more

For starters I've had the distinguished pleasure of knowing the original owner/developer of City Storage for many...many years; even long before there was a City Storage. Although for the past several years (some 8 +/-) I've also been what I consider a "valued customer" with City Storage, meaning that I've never been treated any more or less professional and respectful than anyone other customer. City Storage is family owned/family operated and has never treated me or any other customer as simply a "Unit #", but have always gone above and beyond to (1) address concerns timely, (2) keep all their customers informed of pending changes, and (3) continued follow-ups on issues whether past or present. Are you looking for personalism in a business as well? I can assure there have been many cases in which the owners and employees have seen me drive through the gate during normal hours, and shortly afterwards they stepped away from the comfort and convenience of the office to drop by my unit and visit for a few. Just to check in...and see how things were going. Yeah....like any business dealings one may have, there may have been a hiccup once in a while; one of the gates not functioning properly, a light out, more cobwebs than normal, or changes to billing, etc...but that's just a part of business. But the facts remain the same, that no matter what the need--the circumstance--the time of day--day of week--or the name of the customer; from my perspective there is no other self-storage companies in the Lake Area that come close to having the level of consistent professional service customers receive at City Storage. ... The staff was great helping me rent the storage unit online. We were coming in with a really large moving truck and were concerned we weren’t going to be able to get it turned down the rows of units. It turned with room to spare! The unit itself was clean, just as described. We are very happy with our storage unit at City Storage. ... Read more

I have been dealing with the company for almost 5 years now. They have gone above and beyond to work with me in tough times. I would recommend them to anyone because they aren't just all about the money. These are genuine, down to earth people. They are very professional and friendly... the best experience I have ever had with a storage unit business. ... Read more

I left upset for the second time but very soon after it was resolved so im just gonna say..If anyone has an issue with staff or anything. Reach out. The owner is a very polite and respectable. I had an issue with one of the staff members and the owner reached out and personally corrected it. City storage is clean and well kept. My belongings are save and ill continue to house them there. So should you :) ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
