My father had a unit here for at least 15 yrs or more & religiously paid every month. He passed away in Sept. so l was able to keep paying every month until I was able to go thru everything & clean it out. It had my grandparents & his things in it. I paid on it 4 times equalling over $400. So my auto pay with them took out the fee Jan. 2nd & the morning of the 4th. My family & I finished emptying the unit thinking at the 1st of the month I would get my payment refunded as I just paid for the whole month of Jan. 2 days prior to emptying it. Freezing cold out my family & I did it. Swept out unit & left it spotless, went to office to inform them & was told "Sorry, we don't pro rate". WHAT?? So I paid for the whole month with nothing in return? That is completely inconsiderate I think. This storage place had a loyal paying customer & myself for over a decade & I am extremely disappointed & broke. Please have some courtesy knowing money is hard to come by unless you are just outright wealthy, which most are not. People work hard for their money & to have it taken for no real legitimate reason is just baffling to me. Its hard enough grieving, then going thru your loved ones lifes history & keepsakes. This no refund on the whole month is a slap in the face because the storage facility is making bank on my money for an empty storage unit for the month of January. Plus, they could just right away rent out that unit & get that customers money on the month for the unit I've already paid for. If that's the case, then I need to go into the storage unit rental facility business. On the other hand, I am human & have compassion so therefor I would not do this to anyone as it's just bad business or just driven by money & not that great customer service of pleasing the customer & in return, I spread the word of either how bad my experience was or how awesome my experience was. Its up to them, not me. I did my due diligence & my dad & I were nothing but a constant income instead of people with feelings. And for the last 2 months I was waiting for a phone call about the roll up door being broke which I noticed when I took over the unit. Was told it would get fixed. I didn't want to get blamed for something I didn't do. When I informed the office Jan. 4th that door was still not wkg. right, I was told the note from 2 mos. ago was still on the desk for the person to fix it, as well as a strong odor of mj in the office. Is my months rent Im out of going toward more bad business? This is all very disturbing to me & Im quite upset over all the above things mentioned. Im a middle aged person with concerns, not a young naive individual trying to cause trouble. Im being brutally honest & was shown lack of respect. ... Read more

The owner from the start has been amazing. I had a series of unfortunate circumstances and had to store my entire house which includes 5 children. I was in an "a act of God" accident which lead to me being unemployed for several months. I fell behind on the payment for storage and it was due for auction. I was desperate not to lose all of not only my belongings but those of my children. In a desperate plea after gaining employment but close to auction date I pleaded with the owner to hold off until my first check. After communicating with him was willing to postpone the auction of my storage unit until my first check. For this reason I give this business a 10 star if possible. I highly recommend Mt Morris self storage !!!!!!!!! ?? PS: sorry for the long review but I felt explanation was deserved for a 10 ???? ?????? ... Read more

Employees were top notch...the units were good size, we had the new ones. Everything stayed dry, but did have some mice. The areas around the units need to be black topped, all dirt, but all in all a good experience. ... Read more
