Read some helpful reviews of My Place Self Storage, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Doesn't plow snow in the winter, broken gate for extended periods of time, customer service is AI but they raised rent for "operational cost to provide the best possible storage experience". Like what? To pay for a goofy storage sign that is only half lit at night? How ironic. ... Read more

DONT BELIEVE REVIEWS! All these reviews are from the previous owner, who was great! My Place Self Storage is a private equity and just bought this facility and are using the previous reviews as their own. This is the WORST storage facility; you can't get any help. Here are a few things - 1. The gate was broken for almost 2 months, so all of our valuables were out in the open. 2. The door is rusted on one of my units and doesn't stay open. I have to use a rod to hold it up. Jeremy working there said "oh there's nothing we can do until there are TEN doors that need to be fixed, we won't bring anyone out for just one compliant". 3. I just got an email that my $90 parking space is going up to $108 next month... $18 is ridiculous. 4. I ordered another storage unit online, and it gave me the wrong unit size - I couldn't get ahold of any for days. No one is ever working at the facility. 5. They say "first month free" but make you pay a large "initial fee" so it's not really free... ... Read more

The manager is very helpful and seems knowledgeable. Two complaints tho. Snow plow just scraped a lane and the snow was pushed in towards the doors. It made things extremely difficult to get in the units after the plows and the drifts. Secondly I was disappointed in the removal of the port a john. I spend quite a bit of time working in my unit and that thing was very handy. Would like to get that back. Can’t be that expensive… ... Read more

Easy in, easy out. Reasonable price for a pad to park the boat. Very fair in that I moved my stuff out 3 days after paying for the next month. They refunded my monthly fee without out me asking. That's a sign that they care about their customers. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
