Pay extra somewhere else. We need an inside unit for six months. The price was right and inside. Now to the problems. The unit was dirty and half the lights are not working. Every month I had to call for a new gate code. Not a big deal. Dec 12th I get a postcard saying your rent is increased 40 per month. Thanks for the two week notice. Then I go to move out and called twice to cancel my unit. The caled over and over asking for payment after I moved. I finally got in touch with the location manager and he was a rude jurk. After a few minutes of bothering him he hung up. Avoid this place ... Read more

They have ran me around in circles. The last few months I have tried to make contact with the district manager. Only to get the site manager who can’t seem to answer questions. There has been multiple break ins (the units are a stones throw away from lspd). The front gate has been broke and left open the entire time and nothing locks like it’s supposed to. They raised my rates after I paid in advance for 6 months. I would never recommend this place to anyone. ... Read more

We rented at this facility for several years and just recently moved to another facilty. Here’s our experience: 1. Monthly rental costs increased annually- ending at $195 per month 2. Management turnover was frequent, leading to inconsistent service. 3. No on-site office personnel were available. 4. The gates were often broken and, more recently, completely turned off and left open. 5. Mold and mildew were present inside the buildings and even grew on our furnishings. 6. Foundation cracks were evident. 7. Bugs and mice were nesting in the units. 8. The facility was no longer temperature-controlled. 9. Theft was a persistent issue. Overall, this is an unsecured, poorly managed, and deteriorating storage complex that appears to be heading out of business—and unfortunately, operating as such. Update: As you can see from their response- even upper management has no idea the condition of this location, nor do they care, and hit us with this outdated antiquated response. I’ve already left- I will not be “stopping by to speak to a property manager”. NO ONE is on site at this location. There is NO five stars at this location. The buildings are falling apart, the foundation is nearly beyond repair, it’s no longer climate controlled, and mold, pests, and thieves have taken over. I moved to a brand new facility at half the cost, with an on-site staff, climate controlled units, working inside lights, and mold and pest free. Update 2: After we cancelled, cleaned up and vacated, took pictures, and left our unit in excellent condition......they went on to charge us another $197 month of rent. Literally fraudulent charged us a new month when we were already moved out. Upon calling them, Their reasoning was the property manager didn't mark it as vacant until the 2nd, even though we moved out well over a week beforehand. Again...No One is there to manage. We were then told 2 weeks later we "should" be getting a refund, but after another week....nothing. Had to take the matter into our own hands and challenge the charge with our bank. Still waiting. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORAGE FACILTY. We've moved on to uhaul storage at $85 a month and it's secured, climate controlled, clean, and a manager on site everyday. ... Read more

So my locker, along with countless other lockers were broken into and burglarized, I never received a notice of these break ins until I was a victim. The police officer who patrols the area and other storage renters who were there too because they were robbed, told me that many times day and night the security gate is wide open for anyone to drive in, cut pad locks and steal what they want. They said homeless people are always sleeping in the climate controlled buildings. This place is not a secure place and they have breached the contract and the police and other storage renters are witnesses. ... Read more

Not very nice people kicked a few people out for stupid reasons after given thousands of dollars to them. Wasn't trying to hear reasons why just get out and you only got an hour to do so. The gate to their units was broken for months so they increased your insurance and let it go for a while not getting fixed. They increase your rent every month if not every other month. And if they ever say first month for $1 expect at the very least $30 no where near $1! ... Read more

I only chose one star because you can't choose zero stars . I would NOT recommend renting any units here to ANYONE. I paid over $4000 in 3 years to these inconsiderate ,fake, just terrible people. I did nothing wrong - and they gave me one hour to move out 2 units! That's not possible. I did nothing but pay my bill pretty close to on time for three years and that's how they treat paying customers! Just be aware- crooked people are everywhere ! Especially at Red dot in lee's summit. I would deny renting here rather than recommend to ANYONE for sure ! And they raised rent three times in a year while their gate was obviously broke for a while year! Who does that! As much money as we pay- and you can't protect our whole lives that are packed up from being stolen or secure ???I'm glad I had to go. ... Read more

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.
