Do NOT store you items here. These people are NOT TRUSTWORTHY. I am originally from the Flathead but currently live out of state. I stored my items here for several years. I was set up on auto pay. Unfortunately, my debit card number was changed because of fraud. Because this was such a small expense, I didn’t catch it when switching my auto pays over. Normal businesses just call if you miss a payment. Easy. These people are passive aggressive and opt to send letters/emails rather than treat the people who pay them for their services like real customers. This wouldn’t have been a problem except the emails they sent went to my spam folder, and despite changing my address with them in person years ago, they sent letters to an address I haven’t lived at for years. What’s worse, an employee admitted there was “bounce back”, meaning the letters they sent were returned. Despite knowing the address was wrong, these cold, callous people still couldn’t be bothered to pick up the phone and call me. They made virtually no effort to inform me my account was behind. And I owed a tiny sum of money. As a business owner myself, I understand customers sometimes make mistakes. I would never send my customers to collections before calling them first. These heartless people made the most pathetic effort to contact me and then sold off some off my most cherished items for table scraps. Even after selling off my things like scavengers, they didn’t call. I put my faith in this business. I trusted that if or when push came to shove, they’d do the right thing. This was my biggest mistake. It would have taken nothing to call and inform me I was behind. They simply were too lazy and opted to send letters to the wrong address and use email, the most unreliable form of communication. And when their letters were returned, they still didn’t call. If they had, their fees and fines would have been paid immediately along with the outstanding balance and they would have received an apology. Imagine having a house fire and losing everything that was precious to you. That’s what this felt like. And despite the fact I paid them for years, these folks barely cared. Money. That’s all they care about. To them, you’re just a paycheck and they’ll throw you to the wolves without a second thought. Don’t store your things here. They aren’t trustworthy. They aren’t honest. They won’t do the right thing. They don’t respect or appreciate their customers. And I believe they broke the law. They are required by law to inform by email AND mail. They knowingly sent letters to the wrong address and made no attempt to correct the issue. There are plenty of better places to store your precious things, owned by people of better character. I’ve lost everything because of these wicked people. I was a good customer. I paid them for years. It wasn’t enough. And if my review isn’t warning enough, look at the recent spate of one star reviews they’ve received. If anyone has had similar issues with this business, please contact me. I intend to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the MT office of consumer protection, among other actions. I would welcome you aboard should I decide to take action against them. ... I truly have never had a problem the past 10+ years of having a storage unit here. Until they updated their online website/payment system. It is frustrating that I go rounds with the computer and laptop and my cell phone. I have unblocked 'cookies' as they have said and Still, I cannot get logged in. This month was the Worst experience yet. And yes I could have called but for them to insist I need to fix things on my end. So ridiculous. ... Read more

I have been renting at Batavia for a long time. After being offered a bigger unit for a fair price they soon raised the rent. So I am moving back to a smaller unit. When I could not get it moved in 1 day after paying them $180.00. They want to charge me for both for a full month with no pro rate. So that's another 100. I feel that is not good business. I was in the smaller unit for 3 years I had no intention of moving to the bigger unit. I feel they took advantage of me. Now they are charging me double just to move back to my smaller unit. Not to mention I ha d to pay for a truck to move it. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Batavia Self-Storage - 190 Batavia Lane has to offer. These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Enclosed and RV Storage. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
