Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

We started renting at Public Storage on Mt. Holly Rd. in January, and by June they have already raised our rent by $71. Five months. That is ridiculous. The whole thing feels like a bait-and-switch. They get you in at one price, let you move all your stuff in, and then jack up the rent once it’s inconvenient to leave. It’s not transparent, it’s not customer-friendly, and it definitely doesn’t make me want to recommend them to anyone. Storage should be simple: pay a fair price, keep your belongings safe, move on with your life. Instead, Public Storage turned it into another monthly bill that suddenly balloons for no good reason. Be careful renting here. The price you sign up for clearly doesn’t mean much. ... Read more

Right before Christmas I moved to a building on first floor in another building. I was having issues with my first building I was in due to location and access. The 3 ladies that were on duty were over the top accommodating. They went out of their way to help me. They even helped me get a cart and get to my new storage unit. I appreciated them working to make sure I was happy! They were wonderful. So thankful for that help. ... Read more

Unfortunately, I can be a bit klutzy and managed to lock myself out of my storage as the mover was trying to get me moved in. I contacted management and within 15 minutes, they responded and cut my lock off. Life savors to say the very least Misty and Alisa were so understanding and did not make me feel like a total ding -bat. I would have mentioned the gentleman who actually cut the lock off but can’t remember his name. Oh and I almost forgot, No Extra Charge for the lock cut off!! What?? Thank you soooooo much. ... I had a very unfortunate experience with Public Storage. I confirmed my appointment/reservation time the morning of, but when I arrived, no one was there, and there was no sign on the door. I tried contacting the site manager and customer service multiple times but received no response, and my voicemails were never returned. The lack of professionalism and communication was incredibly disappointing. ... Read more

I have rented from this place for almost 5 years now and they keep going up on their rent. Now it’s jumped over $100.00 this time!! Ive NEVER been late renting as long as I have. The lady said, call back next year, we’ve already given you a discount. What for 6 months?? Then you slammed me by 100.00. Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
