Manager Candy is very dismissive. The door to get into the building was not working and she was not friendly when I approached her for help. Also, After noticing the same bugs in the hallways after multiple visits to my storage, I brought it to her attention and nicely asked if the units were on a schedule to be cleaned and/or monitored for pest control. Her response was “I’ve been gone for a week. I’ll get around to it when I can” in a dismissive tone. I feel like there could be better customer service and cleanliness especially with my rate randomly increasing out of no where. Other than that I have no complaints with the service I’ve received from this storage company. ... Read more

????? Fantastic Help from Candy! I recently rented a unit at this Public Storage location and had the pleasure of being assisted by Candy. Her customer service was truly outstanding. She was not only knowledgeable and professional in explaining the options and process but also genuinely kind and patient with all my questions. She went above and beyond to ensure I found the perfect unit for my needs. The entire experience was positive because of her help. This facility is lucky to have such a wonderful employee! ... This is the most horrible company I have ever had to come across. The first day I rented my space in May the screws in the door came apart and left my door open half way thru. I immediately informed them. I was told they would put in a maintenance request for it to be fixed. A month later the door still was not fixed. I was calling and calling everyday and no answer. I finally caught them one evening before they left and was told maintenance tried to put the screws back in the door but it didn’t work and the entire door had to be replaced. It is now August 4th and my door is still not fixed. I have called several times and went up to the location several times to keep getting the same story being told over and over again. The request has been submitted. Everybody keeps telling me we will give you a call to let you know what is going on. No one ever calls. I have tried contacting the district manager and no response. From what I was told is the door was broke before it was rented and they replaced the screws. My concern is everytime I lift the door up and back down it’s comes apart even more. God forbid I get hurt while doing this. I have requested a credit because it has been 4 months literally since my door has been broken and nothing has been done. I refuse to keep paying for a broken unit. I will continue to write bad reviews until something is done. Take my advice do not rent from them. ... Read more

They will tell you one price during your rental and two months later they will up the price on you without ever telling you and call it “marketing”. Don’t rent here. They want your money and make you pay way more than you signed for all the while they don’t help you with nothing cause you the one that is having to move in or out your things even when you physically can’t sometimes. ... I rented a parking spot for a work van. When I returned to the storage unit on May 1st I found another vehicle parked in my spot. Similar issues had occurred previously but were ablue to be resolved quickly. On May 1st however, I was told the person who parked on my spot was out of the country and there was NOTHING they could do. I was told to "just find another parking space and use it". I did not rent just any space, and wanted MY space. I informed them that I would have to discontinue renting from them since I could not access my space, and I did. I received a statement saying I owed ZERO dollars and I went on my way. Three days later, they tried, in vane to charge my credit card for the rental fee. MY credit card company declined the transaction as "bank fraud' and I thought that was the end of it. Last night I received an email from a collection company. My credit card company already determined this was attempted bank fraud' on by Public Storage. I guess I will have to seek a legal remedy to get them to stop harassing me. It is a low quality, terribly run, unprofessional company and I will NEVER waste my time, money, and energy renting from them ever again. I have now had to elevate my issue to the Attorney Generals Office of NC as Public Storage has contacted a collection agency to try and obtain the money My bank declined to allow them to get due to them determining that the transaction was bank fraud' and disallowed it. ... The receptionist on 30/11/24 was not let me in to use service here the storage and lied that it closed at 5pm but the website did said it close 5:30pm. This is so disappointed that you guys have so many branches but cannot control the right. If this is the discrimination then please check on your employee and verify the customer’s right for retraining your employee purposes. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Public Storage - 4920 Capital Blvd has to offer. These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Public Storage - 4920 Capital Blvd can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 25 to 300 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Public Storage - 4920 Capital Blvd come at a variety of prices, starting from $25 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $257 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
