I rented the storage unit online, which was quite convenient. The only issue I had was the code number to the gate. But once I talk to somebody, it was all settled within minutes. The storage unit is very clean. The storage facility is clean and picked up so I’m very satisfied with using prime storage. ... Read more

First unit, the door was damaged and could easily be pushed in so someone could steal our things. After complaining twice, we were able to move everything to another unit, we moved our things in the winter and they don't clear the front of the units. We have to go get a shovel and remove 3ft of snow and ice mounded up in front of the unit to get to our stuff. The unit also had gaps where you could see daylight and rodents could easily enter. After a couple of months, we received a notification of rental price increasing almost $100 per month....for what??? The 2 million page contract might as well say leave your stuff at your own risk, the insurance they force you pay for doesn't cover anything realistically. The cherry on top was the charge to my card for a "termination fee" after we removed everything from the unit giving in person notice a couple weeks prior. Literally the only good thing was the location because it was close to home. Very disappointed and would not use this place if I ever had to utilize a storage unit in the future. ... Read more

One of the best experiences I have had in a long time. Both on line and direct conversations with the Prime representatives were a breath of fresh air as opposed to other companies that don't seem to care about customer service! ... Read more

The quality of management has gone down, and pricing has skyrocketed. They have refused to remove snow so you can't access the unit. Even after shoveling, there's two inches of ice so water from the roof runs into it, freezes and now there's a slipping hazard. Not recommended. ... Read more

I have had a unit with Prime Storage for about 6 months now and I have been very pleased. Ralph is excellent to work with and has been helpful and very courteous. The contract is straightforward and I use automatic payment on my credit card. The storage facility is always clean and well plowed during snow storms. I’m very happy I chose Prime Storage! ... I'd highly recommend you take your money elsewhere. Price increased every 6 months. Started at $170, ended at $195. Almost $200 for a unit with no climate control or electricity is ridiculous. Some items in my unit got mold. My items were COVERED in dirt/sand/debris. I'm assuming from a leaf blower, blowing towards the unit rather than away from the unit. Called to cancel and gave the over a months notice. Was sent forms to fill out via email for the cancelation. Filled those out same day. Called the 23rd to let them know everything had been removed, the unit had been swept and unit was unlocked, ready for inspection. Tried charging me an early move out fee, saying I didn't give them at least 15 days notice to vacate, which I gave them OVER a month. Only reason I wasn't charged was because I had taken note of when I called, who I spoke to. Price is not worth it. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.
