I believe & feel there is a false sense of security being manipulated at this location by the landlord. When my storage unit (next door to the office) was broken into (over the 2021 Christmas weekend) and nearly everything in the unit was taken, the security camera's or camera was not operable (sheez really), the hasp used by the landlord was such a cheap unhardened material that it was easily cut through (see photos), and the entry/exit gate was not working properly either (it did not close automatically when a vehicle entered) Management clearly states they are not responsibile for any lost or stolen property / items but protrays the property as being highly secure. On a positive note, even with her hands tide, the onsite manager, Ginger, is kind, caring & compassionate individual. ... Read more

Only gave one star because zero isn't an option. A tenant of A-1 gave friends his gate code and those friends then stole my welder, as witnessed clearly on security cameras. The tenant refused to reveal the identities of the perpetrators. Despite this, as well as violating rules by giving his gate code to non-tenants, this tenant was allowed to remain so with no further interrogation on the matter. I moved out right away. Not a bad place to store things you don't mind losing to other tenants, I suppose... ... Read more

These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate and Credit Cards Accepted. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by A-1 Self Storage - 5115 San Mateo Blvd NE can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 50 to 240 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
