They hook you with saying first months $1 but then they get you in the subsequent months, it happens slowly at first then one day you realize that your bill is over $100!!!! Luckily I called and the owner is smart and pretty chill. He changed my bill down to $61 (for a 5ft by 9ft by 15 ft... Or.... The smallest unit) so.... Yes they will raise the prices of rent every single month or billing cycleb . But when asked he brought it back down, he also didn't snoop through my stuff, and when I left it unlocked he called me in to lock it. He actually pays attention and maintains tight security. Good storage. ... Read more

Anthony, here at the Public Storage was over the top on his assistance. We’ve been clearing our storage shed out for the past 3 days and Anthony has came by each day to see if there was anything he could help with. On the first day actually, he helped me move a couple of heavy boxes that I wasn’t able to on my own. It seems that Anthony does a fine job managing this location! ... Read more

I rented a 10x30 storage space at Simply Self Storage which was broken into 3 times between April and June of 2023. The pictures I attached show what I found the first, second and third times. Over the three incidents, I lost around $10,000 worth of property - mostly in tools - and that's just what I could account for. You can see between the first and second pictures they came back for the fridge and tile-cutter, along with some other stuff. I was gutted. I filed police reports the first two times - a long, painstaking process - but not nearly as tiresome as the process for filing insurance claims. I only bought a $2000 policy at Simply Self Storage's front desk because I didn't expect to be robbed there. I had to produce either receipts or proof of value for everything I claimed. I had to give dates of purchase. They depreciate the value of your possessions, and if you have any antiques you have to have a written appraisal of their worth, which, I suppose you'd have to get before it was stolen. I had nearly new dewalt tools. A 500 dollar Bosch rotary hammer. A whole toolbox full of handtools I'd spent years accumulating. All gone, and with it, my ability to work on my property. After the first robbery the front desk looked and found what might have been a video of the person doing the stealing leaving in a black truck. It was a grainy shot of the gate and you couldn't make out any license plates or even the sex of the driver. I was told the camera's on the end of the compound my unit was on weren't working. After the second robbery they didn't come up with any footage at all. By the time of the third robbery they just broke the centerpiece out of the sliding mechanism and got in to find I'd cleared out everything but a long board. After my experience with Simply Safe Storage, I don't believe my property was ever safe there. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Public Storage - 5801 West Britton Road has to offer. These amenities include 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Credit Cards Accepted and Online Payment. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
