When I moved my stuff in, someone’s dryer was left in my unit LOL. It also reeked of weed in the unit. I moved out days before June started and they kept trying to charge me for June. I had to have my boyfriend call and they finally accepted my move out and changed my balance to zero but that was after receiving several emails from them saying I owed them money and late fees for a month I wasn’t even there for. Basically they’re just shady and run down. Go anywhere else ... Read more

This is the worse place ever. Did everything required to move out of a unit an instructed. Recorded email confirmation that the unit was moved out no money due. This was 8/28/24. Well today 11/1/24 I got a 500 charge from this place. I called no answer. Then I guess the blocked my calls because I was no longer able to get through. That’s not the crazy part. I tried from a different phone number rang and then they said they were the Volvo dealership. I called again from my number dead end. But weird is they have changed their number on their website today over 15 times. Each time I called they hung up and changed the number posted online. All I want is the STOLEN 500. My account is closed, no pending transactions. I was also told my card was removed from file after the unit was cleared out. Lies because again I was charged 500 today. And the crazy part is I wonder how many college students have been scammed and don’t realized it because today money from the VA was deposited or other places and they just charging away while students probably don’t realize it. If you can find a different storage do that. And as crazy as it sounds if anyone doesn’t believe the numbers are changing I’m adding photos ... Read more

I would give zero stars if I could. Their website claims customer service is great. I have yet to expierence this. There is nobody in the office. I have been calling everyday and leaving a voicemail for over a week and have yet to get a call back. My husband called them and was able to get ahold of someone once and was told that the charge on my account wouldn't go through and was only because of Labor Day. Fine, well now it's 9/11 and $ 300 was charged to my account. I moved out my stuff the last week of August before Labor Day. I understand honest mistakes and holidays. I wanted to handle this politely and professionally but unfortunately I've had to resort to this negative review. I am going to be generous and give someone the chance to call me by end of business day tommorow 9/12/24 before I take further action. You have my number, just listen to your voicemail from the last week. Update 10/6/24 I have disputed the charge with my bank as I have still not heard from anyone. I hope my bank will be able to dispute it. I will be submitting a complaint with whomever oversees this company. ... Read more

They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. No one answers the phone or emails. I used them over the summer to store my two daughters things since they both attend OSU. We moved everything out on 8/17. It took them 3 weeks to even respond to the close out. Then I get an email stating they were gonna charge another $113 for the month of September. How, when I closed out the account? Finally was able to talk to someone and they still did not refund me my deposit. I will never use this storage again or recommend it. Very unproffessional. ... I just read the review from Charity Ornelas. I still believe the ownership of Lock Up Self Storage are crooks. They should be "Locked Up" and "Self Stored" in thier own facility. They have HORRIBLE and TERRIBLE customer service and communications. They WILL continue to charge you over and over after you leave their facility. So use a prepaid debit card and dont store it to protect yourself. They charged me an extra month and refused to communitcate to discuss. Like the other person said, call me to discuss, you have my number. Just check voicemail. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

To open your storage unit door, start by unlocking it, whether it uses a traditional padlock or a Bluetooth-enabled smart lock. Once unlocked, grab the bottom handle and lift or pull up the roll-up door until it’s fully open.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.

Security helps protect your belongings while they’re in storage and gives you peace of mind between visits. Many self storage facilities use a combination of features such as video surveillance, gated access, on-site management, and well-lit premises to help deter unauthorized access.

At Locked Up Self Storage - 1730 North Jardot Road, available security amenities may include Security Camera, Gate, Onsite Manager, designed to help keep your items protected.

Yes, most standard vehicles can be stored in self storage units. A 10x20 unit typically provides enough space for a car, while outdoor or designated parking areas may be available for larger vehicles.
